തെക്കേ അമേരിക്കയിലെ ഒരു രാജ്യമാണ് പരാഗ്വെ (ഔദ്യോഗികമായി റിപ്പബ്ലിക് ഓഫ് പരഗ്വെ). കരയാൽ ചുറ്റപ്പെട്ട രണ്ട് തെക്കേ അമേരിക്കൻ രാജ്യങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നാണിത് (ബൊളീവിയക്കൊപ്പം). പരാഗ്വെ നദിയുടെ തീരത്താണ് ഈ രാജ്യം സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത്. ഇതിന്റെ തെക്ക്-തെക്ക് പടിഞ്ഞാറ് ദിശകളിൽ അർജന്റീന, കിഴക്ക്-വടക്ക് കിഴക്ക് ദിശകളിൽ ബ്രസീൽ, വടക്ക് പടിഞ്ഞാറ് ദിശയിൽ ബൊളീവിയ എന്നീ രാജ്യങ്ങൾ സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നു. അസുൻസിയോൺ ആണ് തലസ്ഥാനം. തെക്കേ അമേരിക്കയുടെ കേന്ദ്രഭാഗത്തായി സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നതിനാൽ പരഗ്വെയെ "തെക്കെ അമേരിക്കയുടെ ഹൃദയം"(Corazón de América) എന്ന് വിശേഷിപ്പിക്കാറുണ്ട്.
