റാശിദീയ ഖിലാഫത്തിനു ശേഷം മുസ്‌ലിം ലോകത്തിന്റെ ഭരണ സാരഥ്യം ഏറ്റെടുത്ത ഭരണകൂടത്തെയാണ് ഉമവി ഖിലാഫത്ത് അഥവാ ഉമയ്യദ് ഖിലാഫത്ത് എന്ന് വിളിക്കുന്നത്‌. ഉമയ്യാദ് കുടുംബത്തിൻറെ കയ്യിലായിരുന്നു പ്രധാനമായും ഈ ഭരണം നിലകൊണ്ടത് എന്നതിനാലായിരുന്നു ഈ പേര് വന്നത് . AD 661മുതൽ 750 വരെയായിരുന്നു ഇതിന്റെ ഭരണകാലയളവ്
