ലാർജ് ഹാഡ്രോൺ കൊളൈഡർ ലെ ആറു പരീക്ഷണങ്ങളിലൊന്നാണ് എ ലാർജ് അയൺ കൊളൈഡർ എക്സ്പിരിമെന്റ് (ALICE - A Large Ion Collider Experiement) . പ്രപഞ്ചോൽപ്പത്തിക്ക് ശേഷം ഏതാനും നിമിഷങ്ങൾക്കകം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നതായി കരുതപ്പെടുന്ന ക്വാർക്ക് ഗ്ലുവോൺ പ്ലാസ്മ എന്ന ദ്രവ്യത്തിന്റെ അവസ്ഥയെ പരീക്ഷണത്തിലൂടെ സ്ഥിരികരിക്കുകയാണ് ALICE പരീക്ഷണത്തിന്റെ പ്രധാന ലക്ഷ്യം.
