പൊന്തക്കുരുവിയ്ക്ക്[1] [2][3][4] ഇംഗ്ലീഷിൽ Sykes's warbler എന്നു പേര്. ശാസ്ത്രീയ നാമം Iduna rama എന്നാണ്. ഈ പക്ഷിയെ മുമ്പ് ചിന്നൻഭേരിയുടെ ഉപ വിഭാഗമായി കണക്കാക്കിയിരുന്നു. ഇന്ത്യയിൽ ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് സൈന്യത്തിൽ ജോലി ചെയ്തിരുന്നകേണൽ വില്യം ഹെൻറി സ്കൈസിന്റെ ഓർമ്മക്കാണ് ഈ പക്ഷിയുടെ പേര്. .[5]

തുറശസ്സായ സ്ഥലങ്ങലിലും കുറ്റിച്ചെടികളിലും ഉയരമുള്ള മരങ്ങളിലും കാണുന്ന ചെറിയ പക്ഷിയാണ്. 3-4 മുട്ടകൾ കുറ്റിച്ചെടികളിലൊ പുല്ലുകളിലൊ ഉള്ള കൂടുകളിൽ ഇടുന്നു.
തീറ്റ[തിരുത്തുക]
പ്രാണികളാണ് ഇവയുടെ പ്രധാന ഭക്ഷണം.
മങ്ങിയ തവിട്ടുനിറം, വെള്ള കലർന്ന നിറം വശങ്ങളിൽ.
