പെൻറാഡെകനോയിക് ആസിഡ് പ്രകൃതിയിൽ അപൂർവ്വമായ ഒരു പൂരിത ഫാറ്റി ആസിഡ് ആണ്. അതിന്റെ തന്മാത്ര വാക്യം CH3(CH2)13COOH ആണ്. പശുക്കളുടെ പാൽ കൊഴുപ്പിൽ 1.2% ലെവൽ ഇത് കാണപ്പെടുന്നു.[2]ബട്ടർഫാറ്റ് ആയി മാർക്കെറ്റിൽ ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്ന [3]പശുവിൻപാലിലെ വെണ്ണയാണ് ഇതിൻറെ പ്രധാന ഉറവിടം.[4]ഹൈഡ്രൊജിനേറ്റ് ചെയ്ത ആട്ടിറച്ചിയിലെ കൊഴുപ്പിൽ പെൻറാഡെകനോയിക് ആസിഡ് കാണപ്പെടുന്നു.[5] ഡൂറിയൻ ഇനങ്ങളിലെ ഡുറിയോ ഗ്രാവിയോലെൻസ് പോലുള്ള ഫലങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നുള്ള കൊഴുപ്പിന്റെ 3.61 ശതമാനത്തിൽ ഈ ആസിഡ് കാണപ്പെടുന്നു.[6]
