[തിരുത്തുക]1972 വേനൽ കാല ഒളിമ്പിക്സിൽ നടന്ന മ്യൂണിച്ച് കൂട്ടക്കൊലയ്ക്ക് മറുപടിയായിട്ടാണ് ഈ തോക്ക് നിർമ്മിച്ചത് എന്നാണ് പറയപ്പെടുന്നത്.പാശ്ചാത്യ ജർമനിയിലെ പൊലീസിന് തീവ്രവാദികളുടെ അത്ര വേഗതയും കൃത്യതയുമുള്ള ആയുധങ്ങൾ ഇല്ലായിരുന്നു. പോലീസ്/പട്ടാള ആവശ്യങ്ങൾക്കായി, ഹെക്ലർ & കോച്ച് എന്ന കമ്പനിയെ വേഗതയും കൃത്യതയും ഉള്ള, വലിയ മാഗസിൻ ശേഷി ഉള്ള സെമി-ഓട്ടോമാറ്റിക്ക് തോക്കുകൾ ഉണ്ടാക്കാൻ ഏല്പിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു.
