പിലാനെസ്ബർഗ് (മുമ്പ് പിലാൻഡ്സ്ബർഗ്[2][3]) ദക്ഷിണാഫ്രിക്കയിലെ വടക്കു പടിഞ്ഞാറൻ പ്രവിശ്യയിലുള്ള ഒരു പർവതമാണ്. വൃത്താകാരത്തിലുള്ള ഒരു പുരാതന അഗ്നിപർവ്വത ഘടനയായ ഈ പർവ്വതം, ചുറ്റുമുള്ള പരന്ന സമതലങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നാണ് ഉയുരുന്നത്. മൂന്ന് കേന്ദ്രീകൃത വരമ്പുകളാൽ അല്ലെങ്കിൽ കുന്നുകളുടെ വളയങ്ങളാൽ രൂപം കൊള്ളുന്ന, അതിൽ ഏറ്റവും പുറംഭാഗത്തിന് ഏകദേശം 24 കിലോമീറ്റർ വ്യാസമുണ്ട്. പ്രിട്ടോറിയയുടെ 100 കിലോമീറ്റർ വടക്ക്-പടിഞ്ഞാറായി സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന പിലാനെസ്ബർഗിൻറെ സ്ഥിതി ഭൂരിഭാഗവും പിലാനെസ്ബർഗ് ദേശീയോദ്യാനം എന്നറിയപ്പെടുന്ന സംരക്ഷിത പ്രദേശത്താണ്. എലാൻഡ്സ് നദി പിലാനെസ്ബർഗിന് തെക്ക് കിഴക്കൻ ദിശയിൽ ഒഴുകുന്നു. ഗർത്തം രൂപപ്പെടുന്നതിന്റെ ചുറ്റളവിൽ നിരവധി പ്ലാറ്റിനം ഖനികൾ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നു.
