തവിടൻ കടൽ ആളയ്ക്ക് bridled tern എന്നാണ് പേര്. ശാസ്ത്രീയ നാമം Onychoprion anaethetusഎന്നാണ്. മുമ്പ് Sterna anaethetus എന്നായിരുന്നു. ഉഷ്ണ മേഖല കടലിലെ പക്ഷിയാണ്.ദേശാടാന പക്ഷിയാണ്.
രൂപ വിവരണം[തിരുത്തുക]
30-32 സെ.മി. നീളം, 77-81 സെ.മീ ചിറകു വിരിപ്പ്. വാൾ ഫോർക്ക് പോലുള്ളതും നീണ്ടതുമാണ്. കടുത്ത ചാര നിറത്തിലുള്ള അടിവശം. നെറ്റിയും പുരികവും വെള്ള. കൊക്കിനും കാലിനും കറുപ്പു നിറം.
പ്രജനനം[തിരുത്തുക]
കൂട്ടമായി പാരക്കെട്ടുകളുള്ള ദ്വീപുകളിൽ പ്രജനനം നടത്തുന്നു.നുലർഹ്തൊ പൊത്തുകളിലൊ ഒരു മുട്ട ഇടുന്നു.
ഭകണം[തിരുത്തുക]
ഊളയിട്ട് മത്യം പിടിക്കുന്നു. വെള്ളത്ത്നു മുകളിൽ കാണുന്നവയേയും തീറ്റയാക്കാറുണ്ട്. പൂവൻ പിടയ്ക്ക് മത്സ്യം കൊടുക്കുന്നത് ഇണ ചേരലിന്റെ ഭാഗമാണ്.
