വംശനാശത്തിന്റെ വക്കിലുള്ള ഒരു പ്രൈമേറ്റ് ആണ് ഡ്രിൽ. Mandrillus leucophaeus എന്ന ശാസ്ത്രനാമത്തിൽ അറിയപ്പെടുന്ന ഇവ നൈജീരിയ, കാമറൂൺ, ഇക്വറ്റോറിയൽ ഗിനിയുടെ ഭാഗമായ ബൈയോക്കോ ദ്വീപ്‌ എന്നീ പ്രദേശങ്ങളിലെ മഴക്കാടുകളിൽ കാണപ്പെടുന്നു. കണക്കുകൾ പ്രകാരം പതിനായിരത്തിൽ താഴെയാണ് ഇവയുടെ ആകെ എണ്ണം. [3]
