ഡെൽഫ്റ്റ് ദേശീയോദ്യാനം ശ്രീലങ്കയിലെ ദേശീയോദ്യാനങ്ങളിലൊന്നാണ്. ജാഫ്നയിൽ നിന്നും തെക്ക്-പടിഞ്ഞാറ് ഏകദേശം 35 കിലോമീറ്റർ ദൂരത്തിൽ നെടുന്തീവു (ഡെൽഫ്റ്റ്) ദ്വീപിനോട് ചേർന്ന് ഈ ദേശീയോദ്യാനം സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നു.[1][2]

ഇന്റഗ്രേറ്റെഡ് എൻവിയോൺമെന്റൽ സ്ട്രാറ്റെജിക് അസ്സെസ്മെന്റ് ഓഫ് നോർത്തേൻ പ്രൊവിൻസ് ഗവൺമെന്റുമായി കൂടിച്ചേർന്ന് യുണൈറ്റഡ് ഡവലപ്പ്മെന്റ് പ്രോഗ്രാമും യുണൈറ്റഡ് നേഷൻസ് പ്രോഗ്രാമും 2014 ഒക്ടോബറിൽ പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ചതിൽ 1,846 ഹെക്ടർ വിസ്തീർണ്ണമുള്ള ഈ ദേശീയോദ്യാനം ഡെൽഫ്റ്റ് ദ്വീപിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി സൃഷ്ടിക്കാൻ ശുപാർശ ചെയ്തിരുന്നു.[3][4] 2015 മേയിൽ ഡെൽഫ്റ്റിന്റെ ഭാഗങ്ങളും കൂടെ ആഡംസ് ബ്രിഡ്ജും ചുണ്ടിക്കുളവും മധു റോഡും ദേശീയോദ്യാനമായി നാമനിർദ്ദേശം ചെയ്തു. 2015 ജൂൺ 22 ന് ഡെൽഫ്റ്റ് 1,846 ഹെക്ടർ വിസ്തീർണ്ണമുള്ള ദേശീയോദ്യാനമായി തീർന്നു.[5][6]

സസ്യ ജന്തുജാലങ്ങൾ[തിരുത്തുക]

ലോകത്തിൽ ചെറുകുതിരകളെ കാണപ്പെടുന്ന ഒരേയൊരു പ്രദേശം ഈ ഡെൽഫ്റ്റ് ദ്വീപ് ആണ്. ഇവയെ പോർട്ടുഗീസിൽ നിന്നും ഇവിടേക്ക് കൊണ്ടുവന്നതാണെന്ന് കരുതപ്പെടുന്നു.[7]
