കിഴക്കൻ ഹിമാലയത്തിൽ കാണുന്ന വംശനാശഭീഷണി നേരിടുന്ന ഒരു ജീവിയാണ് ടാകിൻ (/ˈtɑːkɪn/; ബുഡോർകാസ് ടാക്സികളർ Budorcas taxicolor; തിബറ്റൻ: ར་རྒྱ་; വൈൽ: ra rgya).[2] മിഷ്മി ടാകിൻ (B. t. taxicolor); സുവർണ്ണ ടാകിൻ (B. t. bedfordi); ടിബറ്റൻ ടാകിൻ (B. t. tibetana); ഭൂട്ടാൻ ടാകിൻ (B. t. whitei) എന്നിങ്ങനെ നാല് ഉപജാതികളാണുള്ളത്. പണ്ട് മസ്ക്ഓക്സ് എന്ന ജീവിക്കൊപ്പം ഓവിബോവിനി എന്ന ഗോത്രത്തിലാണ് ടാകിനെ ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തിയിരുന്നതെങ്കിലും അടുത്ത കാലത്തായി നടന്ന മൈറ്റോകോൺഡ്രിയൽ ഗവേഷണങ്ങൾ കാണിക്കുന്നത് ഈ ജീവിക്ക് ഓവിസ് (ആടുകൾ) എന്ന ഗോത്രത്തിനോടാണ് കൂടുതൽ അടുപ്പമെന്നാണ്. കാഴ്ചയ്ക്ക് മസ്ക്ഓക്സ് എന്ന ജീവിയോടുള്ള സാമ്യം കൺവേർജന്റ് പരിണാമത്താലുണ്ടായതാണ്.[3] ഇത് ഭൂട്ടാനിലെ ദേശീയമൃഗമാണ്.[4]
