തമിഴ് എഴുത്തുകാരനും വിമർശകനുമായിരുന്ന എൻ. വെമ്പുസ്വാമി ശങ്കരൻ (4 ജനുവരി 1954 – 15 ജനുവരി 2018) ചെങ്കല്പേട്ടിൽ ജനിച്ചു. പത്രപ്രവർത്തനത്തിനുപുറമേ ശങ്കരൻ നാടകങ്ങളിലും ചലച്ചിത്രപ്രവർത്തനങ്ങളിലും സജീവമായിരുന്നു.തമിഴ് മാസികയായ ധിം തരികിഡ യുടെ എഡിറ്ററുമായിരുന്നു.
