1930 ഏപ്രിൽ 21 ന് കാർഡിഫിൽ ലോർഡ് മേയർ ഓഫ് കാർഡിഫിന്റെ സെക്രട്ടറി ആൽബർട്ട് വിക്ടർ ചേംബർലെയ്‌നും ഐറിൻ മേ ചേംബർലെയ്ൻ ( പ്രൈസ്) മകനായി ജെഫ്രി ചേംബർലെയ്ൻ ജനിച്ചു. [1] [2]
ലണ്ടൻഫ് കത്തീഡ്രൽ സ്കൂളിൽ ആയിരുന്നു അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പ്രാഥമിക വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം, തുടർന്ന് കൗബ്രിഡ്ജ് ഗ്രാമർ സ്കൂളും, ലണ്ടനിലെ യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി കോളേജിൽ വൈദ്യശാസ്ത്രം പഠിക്കാൻ പോയി. [3] സ്‌കൂളിലെ റഗ്ബിയിലെ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ കഴിവ് അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് "ബോഡ്ജർ" എന്ന വിളിപ്പേര് നേടിക്കൊടുത്തു. [4]
