ഹിമാലയത്തിൽ കാണുന്ന ഒരു സസ്യമാണ് ജടാമാഞ്ചി (Nardostachys jatamansi). വലിയ സുഗന്ധമുള്ള ആംബർ നിറമുള്ള ഒരു സുഗന്ധ എണ്ണ ഇതിൽ നിന്നും ലഭിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. പുരാതനകാലം മുതൽ സുഗന്ധസ്രവ്യമായൗ നാട്ടുമരുന്നുകളിലും മതചടങ്ങുകളിലും ഇത് ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. നാട്ടുമരുന്നുകൾക്കായുള്ള അമിതശേഖരണവും ആവാസവ്യവസ്ഥയുടെ നാശവും കാലിമേയ്ക്കലും കാരണം ഇതിനെ ഒരു വംശനാശഭീഷണിയുള്ള സസ്യമായാണ് കരുതിപ്പോരുന്നത്.
