ചെറുവരയൻ കത്രികയ്ക്ക്[1] [2][3][4] ഇംഗ്ലീഷിൽ streak-throated swallow എന്നും Indian cliff swallow എന്നും ഒക്കെ പേരുകളുണ്ട്. ശാസ്ത്രീയ നാമം Petrochelidon fluvicola എന്നുമാണ്.ദേശാടന പക്ഷിയാണ്. ഈർപ്പമുള്ള കൃഷിയിടങ്ങളിലും ജലാശയങ്ങൾക്ക് അടുത്തും കാണുന്നു. അപൂർവമായി ചെറു കാടുകളിലും കാണുന്നു.[5]
രൂപ വിവരണം
[തിരുത്തുക]തലയിൽ ചെമ്പിച്ച നിറം. വയറിനു മങ്ങിയ വെള്ള നിറം. പുറകു വശത്തിനു തിളങ്ങുന്ന നീല നിറം .മാറിടത്തിലെ വരകൾ ഇവയെ എളുപ്പത്തിൽ തിരിച്ചറിയാൻ സഹായിക്കുന്നു.
ഭക്ഷണം
[തിരുത്തുക]പറന്ന് ഇരപിടിക്കുന്ന ഈ പക്ഷി, പറക്കുന്ന പ്രാണികളെയും പാറ്റകളേയും ഭക്ഷിക്കുന്നു.
