ചെമ്പൻപാടിയ്ക്ക്[2] [3][4] ആംഗലത്തിൽ Jerdon's bush lark എന്നാണു പേര്. ശാസ്ത്രീയ നാമംMirafra affinis എന്നാണ്. [5]
ശസ്ത്രക്രിയ വിദഗ്ദ്ധനും പക്ഷി ശാസ്ത്രജ്ഞനുമായ ശ്രീ തോമസ് സി ജെർഡോണിന്റെ അനുസ്മരണയാണ് ഈ പക്ഷിയുടെ ആംഗല നാമം. [6]
രൂപ വിവരണം[തിരുത്തുക]
ഇവയുട് നെഞ്ചിൽ നിന്നു മുകളിലേക്ക് അമ്പടയാളം പോലുള്ള കുത്തുകളുണ്ട്. ഇവയ്ക്ക് “ചെഞ്ചിറകൻ വാനമ്പാടി” യുമായി നല്ല സാമ്യമുണ്ട്. ചെവി മൂടിയുടെ പുറകിൽ വെളുപ്പ് കുറവാണ്. വാലിന്റെ മദ്ധ്യഭാഗത്തുള്ള തൂവലുകൾ ഇരുണ്ടതാണ്.ചെമ്പൻ നിറമാണ്. കൊക്ക് ചെറുതും തടിച്ചുരുണ്ടതുമാണ്.[7]കഴുത്ത് വെള്ളയാണ്. വാലിന്റെ ഇരുവശവും വെള്ളനിറമാണ്.കൊക്കിൽ നിന്നാരംഭിക്കുന്ന വെളുത്ത കൺപുരികംകൊക്കിനു പിന്നിലേക്ക് പോകുന്നു. വിതരണം[തിരുത്തുക]
'തെക്കുകിഴക്കൻ ഏഷ്യയിൽ ഇന്ത്യയിലും ശ്രീലങ്കയിലും കാണുന്നു.[9]1500മീ. ഉയരത്തിലുള്ള സ്ഥലങ്ങളിൽ വരെ ഇവയെ കാണാറുണ്ട്.കുറ്റുക്കാടുകളുള്ള തുറന്ന സ്ഥലങ്ങളിൽ ഇവയ്ർ സാധാരണ കാണുന്നു. [9]
ഭക്ഷണം[തിരുത്തുക]
വിത്തുകളും നെന്മണികളുമാണ് സാധാരണ ഭക്ഷണം.
പ്രജനനം[തിരുത്തുക]
പന്തിന്റെ ആകൃതിയിലുള്ള കൂട് മാർച്ച്-ജൂൺ മാസങ്ങളിൽ ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നു. രണ്ടു മുട്ടകളിടുന്നു.
