ഇന്ത്യൻ കരസേനയിലെ ഏറ്റവും ഉയർന്ന റാങ്ക് ഓഫീസറാണ് ചീഫ് ഓഫ് ആർമി സ്റ്റാഫ്. സാധാരണയായി ജനറൽ റാങ്കിൽ പെട്ട 4-നക്ഷത്ര ഓഫീസറാണ് ഈ പദവിയിലിരിക്കുന്നത്. ചുരുക്കരൂപത്തിൽ COAS എന്നാണ് ഈ പദവി ഇന്ത്യയിലെ സേനാതല സന്ദേശ‌വിനിമയ ശൃംഖലകളിലുപയോഗിക്കുന്നത്. 2012 മേയ് 31-ന് അധികാരമേറ്റെടുത്ത ജനറൽ ബിക്രം സിങാണ് നിലവിലെ COAS.
