). ചിറ്റൂർ ആണ് ഈ ജില്ലയുടെ ആസ്ഥാനം.ഈ ജില്ലയിൽ 2011ലെ സെൻസസ് അനുസരിച്ച് 4,170,468 ജനങ്ങളുണ്ട്.[2] ചിറ്റൂർ ജില്ലയിൽ തിരുപ്പതി പോലുള്ള അനേകം ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളുണ്ട്. ആന്ധ്രാപ്രദേശിന്റെ തെക്ക് ഭാഗത്ത് പൈനി നദീതാഴവാരത്തിലാണ് ഈ ജില്ല സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നത്. ചെന്നൈ – ബംഗളൂർ സെക്ഷനിലുള്ള ചെന്നൈ-മുംബൈ ദേശീയപാതയിൽ ആണീ ജില്ലയുള്ളത്. ഇത് മാങ്ങ, ധാന്യങ്ങൾ, പഞ്ചസാര, നിലക്കടല തുടങ്ങിയവയുടെ വിപണനകേന്ദ്രമാണ്.
