ഓർക്കിഡിന്റെ ഒരു ഇനമാണ് ഗ്വാരിയാന്ത് ഓറന്റിയാക്ക. മെക്സിക്കോയുടെ ഭൂരിഭാഗവും തെക്ക് കോസ്റ്റാറിക്കയിലേക്കും ഇത് വ്യാപകമായി കാണപ്പെടുന്നു.[1] ജി. ഓറന്റിയാക്കയുടെ ഡിപ്ലോയിഡ് ക്രോമസോം നമ്പർ 2n = 40 ആയി നിർണ്ണയിച്ചു.[2]
ഫാനാൻട്രെനോയിഡ്സ് ഓർക്കിനോളും ലോറോഗ്ലോസോളും ഒരു ഫൈറ്റോഅലെക്സിൻ ഫലമുണ്ടാക്കുകയും ജി. ഓറന്റിയാക്ക തൈകളുടെ വളർച്ച കുറയ്ക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.[3]
