ആഫ്രിക്കയിലെ ഏറ്റവും പഴയ ദേശീയോദ്യാനങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നാണ് ഗരംഭ ദേശീയോദ്യാനം (ഇംഗ്ലീഷ്: Garamba National Park). ഡെമോക്രാറ്റിക് റിപബ്ലിക്ക് ഓഫ് കോംഗോയിലെ ഒറിയന്റെൽ പ്രവിശ്യയിലാണ് ഗരംഭ ദേശീയോദ്യാനം സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത്. 1938 ലാണ് ഈ ദേശീയോദ്യാനം സ്ഥാപിതമായത്. 1980ൽ ഈ ഉദ്യാനം യുനെസ്കോയുടെ ലോകപൈതൃകസ്ഥാനങ്ങളുടെ പട്ടികയിൽ സ്ഥാനം നേടി. ലോകത്തു നിന്നും അന്യം നിന്നു പോകുന്ന ഇനത്തിൽ പെട്ട വടക്കൻ വെള്ളക്കാണ്ടാമൃഗം ഇവിടെ വസിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്.
ചരിത്രം
[തിരുത്തുക]1960 കളിൽ 20,000 ആനകളുണ്ടായിരുന്ന ഉദ്യാനത്തിൽ 2012 ലെ കണക്കുകൾ പ്രകാരം ആനകളുടെ എണ്ണത്തിൽ 90% കുറവാണ് രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നത്.
