ക്വില്ലജ പൂച്ചെടികളുടെ ഒരു ജനുസ്സാണ്.[1]മുമ്പ് ഇത് റോസ് കുടുംബം, ആയ റോസേസീയിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നതായി കരുതപ്പെടുന്നു[2]എന്നാൽ ഇതിന് സ്വന്തമായി തന്നെ കുടുംബമുള്ളതായി അടുത്തകാലത്തെ ഗവേഷണങ്ങൾ കാണിക്കുന്നു. ക്വില്ലജ ബ്രസീലെൻസിസ്, ക്വില്ലജ സാപോനാരിയ എന്നീ രണ്ട് നിലനില്ക്കുന്ന സ്പീഷീസുകളും[3] ഒരു ഫോസിൽ സ്പീഷീസ് ഡകോട്ടാൻതസ് കോർഡിഫോമിസ് മാത്രമാണ് ഈ ജീനസിൽ കാണപ്പെടുന്നത്.[4]
