ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസ് ഈഥൈൽ എന്നും അറിയപ്പെടുന്ന ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസ് (സിപിഎസ്), ഒരു ഓർഗാനോഫോസ്ഫേറ്റ് കീടനാശിനിയാണ്. ഇത് വിളകളിലും മൃഗങ്ങളിലും കെട്ടിടങ്ങളിലും മറ്റ് ക്രമീകരണങ്ങളിലും കീടങ്ങളും പുഴുക്കളും ഉൾപ്പെടെ നിരവധി കീടങ്ങളെ നശിപ്പിക്കാൻ ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നു. അസറ്റൈൽ കോളിനെസ്റ്ററേസ് എൻസൈമിനെ തടഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ട് ഇത് പ്രാണികളുടെ നാഡീവ്യവസ്ഥയിൽ പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു.[6][7] ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസിന് 1966 ൽ ഡൗ കെമിക്കൽ കമ്പനി പേറ്റന്റ് നേടി.

1999 ലെ നിശിത വിഷാംശ വിവരങ്ങളുടെ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തിൽ ലോകാരോഗ്യ സംഘടന ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസിനെ മനുഷ്യർക്ക് (ക്ലാസ് II) മിതമായ അപകടകാരിയായ രാസപദാർഥമായി കണക്കാക്കുന്നു.[8] ശുപാർശ ചെയ്യപ്പെടുന്ന അളവുകളെ മറികടക്കുന്ന എക്സ്പോഷർ ന്യൂറോളജിക്കൽ ഇഫക്റ്റുകൾ, സ്ഥിരമായ വികസന വൈകല്യങ്ങൾ, ഓട്ടോ ഇമ്യൂൺ വൈകല്യങ്ങൾ എന്നിവയുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു. ഇതിൻ്റെ ഗർഭകാല എക്സ്പോഷർ കുട്ടികളുടെ മാനസിക വളർച്ചയെ ദോഷകരമായി ബാധിക്കും.[9]

യുണൈറ്റഡ് കിംഗ്ഡത്തിൽ, ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസിന്റെ ഉപയോഗം 2016 ഏപ്രിൽ 1 മുതൽ നിരോധിച്ചിരിക്കുകയാണ് (ഒരു ചെറിയ ഒഴിവുകൾ ഒഴികെ).[10] 2020-ലെ കണക്കനുസരിച്ച്, ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസും ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസ്-മീഥൈലും യൂറോപ്യൻ യൂണിയനിലുടനീളം നിരോധിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു, അവിടെ അവ മേലിൽ ഉപയോഗിക്കാൻ പാടില്ല.[11] സ്റ്റോക്ക്ഹോം കൺവെൻഷൻ ഓൺ പെർസിസ്റ്റന്റ് ഓർഗാനിക് പൊള്യൂട്ടൻ്റ് -ന് കീഴിൽ ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസിനെ സ്ഥിരമായ ജൈവ മലിനീകരണമായി പട്ടികപ്പെടുത്താൻ യൂറോപ്യൻ യൂണിയൻ അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.[12] 2021 ഓഗസ്റ്റ് 18 മുതൽ, യുണൈറ്റഡ് സ്റ്റേറ്റ്സിലെ ഭക്ഷ്യവിളകളിൽ ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസ് ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നത് നിരോധിക്കുന്നതായി യുഎസ് എൻവയോൺമെന്റൽ പ്രൊട്ടക്ഷൻ ഏജൻസി (ഇപിഎ) പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചു.[13][14][15] ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസിന്റെ ഭൂരിഭാഗം ഗാർഹിക ഉപയോഗങ്ങളും 2001 മുതൽ യുഎസിലും കാനഡയിലും നിരോധിച്ചിരുന്നു.[9][16] ഇത് കൂടാതെ മറ്റ് നിരവധി രാജ്യങ്ങളിലും അധികാരപരിധിയിലും ഇത് നിരോധിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

ഉപയോഗം[തിരുത്തുക]

യുഎസ്എയിലെ ഉപയോഗം

കാർഷിക, പാർപ്പിട, വാണിജ്യ ക്രമീകരണങ്ങളിൽ പ്രാണികളെ നിയന്ത്രിക്കാൻ ലോകത്തെ നൂറോളം രാജ്യങ്ങളിൽ ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസ് ഉപയോഗിച്ചിരുന്നു.[18] റെസിഡൻഷ്യൽ ആപ്ലിക്കേഷനുകളിൽ ഇതിന്റെ ഉപയോഗം ഒന്നിലധികം രാജ്യങ്ങളിൽ നിയന്ത്രിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. ഡൗ പറയുന്നതനുസരിച്ച്, ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസ് ഏകദേശം 100 രാജ്യങ്ങളിൽ ഉപയോഗത്തിനായി രജിസ്റ്റർ ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്, ഇത് പ്രതിവർഷം ഏകദേശം 8.5 ദശലക്ഷക്കണക്കിന് ഏക്കർ വിളകളിലേക്ക് പ്രയോഗിക്കുന്നു.[19] ഏറ്റവും കൂടുതൽ ഉപയോഗമുള്ള വിളകളിൽ പരുത്തി, ചോളം, ബദാം, ഓറഞ്ച്, വാഴ, ആപ്പിൾ എന്നിവയുൾപ്പെടെയുള്ള നാണ്യവിളകളും ഫലവൃക്ഷങ്ങളും ഉൾപ്പെടുന്നു.[20]

ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസ് ആദ്യമായി 1965-ൽ യുണൈറ്റഡ് സ്റ്റേറ്റ്സിൽ മണ്ണിലെ പ്രാണികളുടെ നിയന്ത്രണത്തിനായി രജിസ്റ്റർ ചെയ്തു.[21] റസിഡൻഷ്യൽ ക്രമീകരണങ്ങളിലും ഗോൾഫ് കോഴ്‌സ് ടർഫിലും ഘടനാപരമായ ടെർമൈറ്റ് കൺട്രോൾ ഏജന്റായും കൃഷിയിലും ഈ രാസവസ്തു വ്യാപകമായി ഉപയോഗിച്ചു. ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസിന്റെ ഭൂരിഭാഗം പാർപ്പിട ഉപയോഗവും യുണൈറ്റഡ് സ്റ്റേറ്റ്സിൽ ഇപ്പോൽ അവസാനിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുകയാണ്; എന്നിരുന്നാലും, കാർഷിക ഉപയോഗം സാധാരണമായി തുടരുന്നു.[21]

1987 നും 1998 നും ഇടയിൽ യുഎസിൽ പ്രതിവർഷം 21 ദശലക്ഷം പൗണ്ട് ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസ് ഉപയോഗിച്ചതായി EPA കണക്കാക്കുന്നു.[21] 8 മുതൽ 11 ദശലക്ഷം പൗണ്ട് വരെ പ്രയോഗിച്ച 2001-ൽ, അമേരിക്കയിൽ ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്ന കീടനാശിനികളിൽ ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസ് 15-ാം സ്ഥാനത്തെത്തിയിരുന്നു. 2007-ൽ, അമേരിക്കയിൽ കാർഷിക മേഖലയിൽ ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്ന കീടനാശിനി ചേരുവകളിൽ ഇത് 14-ാം സ്ഥാനത്തെത്തി.[22]

ആപ്ലിക്കേഷൻ[തിരുത്തുക]

ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസ് സാധാരണയായി 23.5% അല്ലെങ്കിൽ 50% ദ്രാവക സാന്ദ്രതയായാണ് വിതരണം ചെയ്യുന്നത്. ഡയറക്ട്-സ്പ്രേ പിൻ പോയിന്റ് പ്രയോഗത്തിന് ശുപാർശ ചെയ്യുന്ന സാന്ദ്രത 0.5% ആണ്, വൈഡ് ഏരിയ ആപ്ലിക്കേഷനിൽ 0.03-0.12% മിശ്രിതം ശുപാർശ ചെയ്യുന്നു (യുഎസ്).[23][24]

കൈനറ്റിക്സ്[തിരുത്തുക]

ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസ് പല വഴികളിലൂടെ പ്രാണികളിലേക്ക് പ്രവേശിക്കുന്നു. സൈമണും സഹപ്രവർത്തകരും 1998 ൽ പ്രധാനമായും ഇലകൾ ഭക്ഷിക്കുന്നതിലൂടെ അത് പ്രാണികലുടെ ശരീരത്തിൽ എത്തുന്നതായി പ്രസ്താവിച്ചു.[25] ദഹനവ്യവസ്ഥ, ചർമ്മം, ശ്വസനവ്യവസ്ഥയുടെ ചർമ്മം എന്നിവയിലൂടെയും ഇത് പ്രവേശിക്കുന്നതായി അവർ കണ്ടെത്തുന്നു.[26]

പ്രവർത്തന മെക്കാനിസം[തിരുത്തുക]

മറ്റ് ഓർഗാനോഫോസ്ഫേറ്റ് കീടനാശിനികൾ പോലെ, ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസ് അസറ്റൈൽകോളിനെസ്റ്ററേസ് ഇൻഹിബിറ്റർ ആയി പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു.[6][7]

മനുഷ്യരിലെ ആരോഗ്യ പ്രത്യാഘാതങ്ങൾ[തിരുത്തുക]

ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസ് എക്സ്പോഷർ ഉയർന്ന അളവിൽ ആയാൽ നിശിത വിഷബാധയിലേയ്ക്ക് നയിച്ചേക്കാം. മനുഷ്യരിൽ നിശിതമായ വിഷബാധയെ തുടർന്നോ അല്ലെങ്കിൽ കുറഞ്ഞ ഡോസിൻ്റെ ദീർഘകാല എക്സ്പോഷർ മൂലമോ സ്ഥിരമായ ആരോഗ്യ പ്രത്യാഘാതങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടാകുന്നു, കൂടാതെ വളരെ ചെറിയ അളവിൽ പോലും ഗർഭസ്ഥ ശിശുക്കളിലും കുട്ടികളിലും വികസന പ്രശ്നങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നു.[27]

ഗുരുതരമായ പ്രത്യാഘാതങ്ങൾക്ക്, ലോകാരോഗ്യ സംഘടന ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസിനെ 'ക്ലാസ് II: മിതമായ അപകടകാരി' ആയി തരംതിരിക്കുന്നു.[28] പരീക്ഷണ മൃഗങ്ങളിൽ വായിലൂടെയുള്ള ലീതൽ ഡോസ് 50 32 മുതൽ 1000 മില്ലിഗ്രാം/കിലോ വരെയാണ്. എലികളിലെ ഡെർമൽ LD50 2000-മില്ലിഗ്രാം/കിലോ ൽ കൂടുതലാണ്, മുയലുകളിൽ ഇത് 1000 മുതൽ 2000 മില്ലിഗ്രാം/കിലോ വരെയാണ്. എലികളിലെ ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസിന്റെ 4 മണിക്കൂർ ഇൻഹാലേഷൻ LC50 200-മില്ലിഗ്രാം/കിലോ3ൽ കൂടുതലാണ്.[29]

അക്യൂട്ട് എക്സ്പോഷറിന്റെ (തീവ്ര വിഷബാധ) ലക്ഷണങ്ങൾ[തിരുത്തുക]

തീവ്രമായ വിഷബാധ പ്രധാനമായും അസറ്റൈൽകോളിൻ ന്യൂറോ ട്രാൻസ്മിഷൻ പാതയിലെ ഇടപെടലിന്റെ ഫലമായാണ് സംഭവിക്കുന്നത്, ഇത് ന്യൂറോ മസ്കുലർ ലക്ഷണങ്ങളിലേക്ക് നയിക്കുന്നു. താരതമ്യേന നേരിയ വിഷബാധ കണ്ണിൽ നിന്ന് വെള്ളം വരിക, കൂടിയ ഉമിനീർ, വിയർപ്പ്, ഓക്കാനം, തലവേദന എന്നിവയ്ക്ക് കാരണമാകും. ഇന്റർമീഡിയറ്റ് എക്സ്പോഷർ പേശിവലിവ് അല്ലെങ്കിൽ ബലഹീനത, ഛർദ്ദി അല്ലെങ്കിൽ വയറിളക്കം, കാഴ്ചക്കുറവ് എന്നിവയിലേക്ക് നയിച്ചേക്കാം. കഠിനമായ വിഷബാധയുടെ ലക്ഷണങ്ങൾ, അപസ്മാരം, അബോധാവസ്ഥ, പക്ഷാഘാതം, ശ്വാസകോശത്തിന്റെ തകരാറുമൂലം ശ്വാസംമുട്ടൽ എന്നിവയാണ്.[30]

കുട്ടികൾക്ക് വിറയലിനേക്കാൾ പേശികളുടെ ബലഹീനത, വിയർപ്പിനെക്കാളും കണ്ണുനീരിനെക്കാളും അമിതമായ ഉമിനീർ; ഉറക്കം അല്ലെങ്കിൽ കോമ എന്നിവ സംഭവിക്കാൻ സാധ്യതയുണ്ട്.[30]

അക്യൂട്ട് എക്സ്പോഷറിന്റെ (തീവ്ര വിഷബാധ) ആവൃത്തി[തിരുത്തുക]

തീവ്ര വിഷബാധ മിക്കവാറും ചെറുകിട കർഷകരെ ബാധിക്കുന്നു. ഏഷ്യയിലെ കാർഷിക മേഖലകളിലാണ് ഏറ്റവും സാധാരണമായി ഇത് സംഭവിക്കുന്നത്.[31] വിഷബാധയ്ക്ക് കാരണം തൊഴിൽപരമായതോ ആകസ്മികമായതോ ആയ എക്സ്പോഷർ ആകാം. ആഗോളതലത്തിൽ സംഭവിക്കുന്ന ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസ് വിഷബാധയുടെ കൃത്യമായ എണ്ണം ഇപ്പൊഴും ലഭ്യമല്ല.[32] പ്രതിവർഷം 200,000+ ആത്മഹത്യകളിൽ കീടനാശിനികൾ ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നു, ഇതിൽ പതിനായിരക്കണക്കിന് പേർ ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസ് ആണ് ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നത്. ഏഷ്യയിലെ ഗ്രാമങ്ങളിൽ ഉള്ളിൽ കഴിക്കുന്ന കീടനാശിനികളുടെ മൂന്നിൽ രണ്ട് ഭാഗവും ഓർഗാനോഫോസ്ഫേറ്റുകളാണെന്ന് കരുതപ്പെടുന്നു. സ്വയം കഴിച്ച് അപകടമുണ്ടാക്കാൻ ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്ന കീടനാശിനികളിൽ ഒന്നാണ് ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസ്.[31][32][33]

യുഎസ് ദേശീയ കീടനാശിനി ഇൻഫർമേഷൻ സെന്ററിൽ റിപ്പോർട്ട് ചെയ്യപ്പെട്ടത് പ്രകാരം യുഎസിൽ, ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസ് എക്സ്പോഷർ സംഭവങ്ങളുടെ എണ്ണം 2000-ൽ 200-ൽ അധികം ആയിരുന്നത്, ഗാർഹിക ഉപയോഗ നിരോധനത്തിന് ശേഷം 2003-ൽ 50-ൽ താഴെയായി കുറഞ്ഞു. [34]

ചികിത്സ[തിരുത്തുക]

വിഷബാധ അട്രോപിൻ ഉപയോഗിച്ചും ഒരേസമയം പ്രാലിഡോക്സിം പോലുള്ള ഓക്സിമുകൾ ഉപയോഗിച്ചും ചികിത്സിക്കുന്നു.[35] കീടനാശിനിയുടെ ആഘാതം കുറയ്ക്കുന്ന അസറ്റൈൽകോളിനെ മസ്കറിനിക് റിസപ്റ്ററുകളുമായി ബന്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിൽ നിന്ന് അട്രോപിൻ തടയുന്നു. എന്നിരുന്നാലും, നിക്കോട്ടിനിക് റിസപ്റ്ററുകളിലെ അസറ്റൈൽകോളിനെ അട്രോപിൻ ബാധിക്കില്ല, അതിനാൽ ഇത് ഒരു ഭാഗിക ചികിത്സയാണ്. അസറ്റൈൽകോളിനെസ്റ്ററേസ് വീണ്ടും സജീവമാക്കാൻ ഉദ്ദേശിച്ചുള്ളതാണ് പ്രാലിഡോക്സിം, എന്നാൽ ഓക്സിം ചികിത്സയുടെ പ്രയോജനം ചോദ്യം ചെയ്യപ്പെടുന്നു.[35] ഒരു റാൻഡമൈസ്ഡ് കൺട്രോൾഡ് ട്രയൽ (RCT) കുറഞ്ഞ ഡോസുകളേക്കാൾ ഉയർന്ന ഡോസിലുള്ള പ്രാലിഡോക്സിമിന്റെ ഉപയോഗത്തെ പിന്തുണച്ചു.[36] ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസ് രോഗികളിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടെ, സ്വയം വിഷം കഴിച്ച രോഗികളെ ചികിത്സിക്കുന്നതുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട, ഒരു റാൻഡമൈസ്ഡ് കൺട്രോൾഡ് ട്രയൽ പ്രാലിഡോക്സിമിന്റെ ഒരു ഗുണവും കണ്ടെത്തിയില്ല.[37]

വിനോദസഞ്ചാരികളുടെ മരണങ്ങൾ[തിരുത്തുക]

2011-ൽ തായ്‌ലൻഡിലെ ചിയാങ് മായിൽ മയോകാർഡിറ്റിസ് ബാധിച്ച് മരിച്ച നിരവധി വിനോദസഞ്ചാരികളുടെ മരണത്തിന് കാരണമായി ന്യൂസിലൻഡ് ശാസ്ത്രജ്ഞർ പറഞ്ഞത് ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസ് വിഷബാധയെയാണ്.[38][39][40] എന്നാൽ തായ് അന്വേഷകർ ഈ വിഷയത്തിൽ ഒരു നിഗമനത്തിലെത്തിയില്ല,[41] അവർ ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസ് ഇതിന് ഉത്തരവാദിയല്ലെന്നും മരണങ്ങളുമായി അതിന് ബന്ധമില്ലെന്നും വാദിക്കുന്നു.[42]

ദീർഘകാല എക്സ്പോഷർ[തിരുത്തുക]

എപ്പിഡെമിയോളജിക്കൽ, പരീക്ഷണാത്മക മൃഗ പഠനങ്ങൾ സൂചിപ്പിക്കുന്നത് ശിശുക്കളും കുട്ടികളും മുതിർന്നവരേക്കാൾ കുറഞ്ഞ ഡോസ് എക്സ്പോഷറിൽ നിന്നുള്ള പ്രത്യാഘാതങ്ങൾക്ക് കൂടുതൽ സാധ്യതയുള്ളവരാണെന്നാണ്.[43][44] മസ്തിഷ്കത്തിലെ വൈജ്ഞാനിക പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങളെ ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസ് പ്രതികൂലമായി ബാധിക്കുമെന്ന് പറയുന്നു.[45] ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസും അതിന്റെ മെറ്റബോളിറ്റുകളും നിർവീര്യമാക്കാനുള്ള കഴിവ് ശിശുക്കൾക്ക് കുറവാണ്. അവയവങ്ങളുടെ പക്വത കാരണം ഈ സംയുക്തങ്ങളുടെ രാസവിനിമയത്തിൽ കൗമാരക്കാർ മുതിർന്നവരിൽ നിന്ന് വ്യത്യസ്തരാണെന്ന് അഭിപ്രായപ്പെടുന്നു.[46] മൃഗങ്ങളുടെ പരീക്ഷണങ്ങളിൽ നിരീക്ഷിച്ചതുപോലെ, ഇത് നാഡീവ്യവസ്ഥയുടെ വികസന പ്രക്രിയകളിൽ തടസ്സമുണ്ടാക്കുന്നു.[43] മസ്തിഷ്കത്തിന്റെ വികാസത്തെ സഹായിക്കുന്ന അവശ്യ ജീനുകളുടെ പ്രകടനത്തെ ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസ് മാറ്റുന്നുവെന്ന് കാണിക്കുന്ന നിരവധി പഠനങ്ങൾ മൃഗങ്ങളിൽ നിരീക്ഷിക്കപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്.[45]

ഹ്യൂമൻ സ്റ്റഡീസ്: ഒന്നിലധികം എപ്പിഡെമിയോളജിക്കൽ പഠനങ്ങളിൽ, ഗർഭാവസ്ഥയിലോ കുട്ടിക്കാലത്തോ ഉള്ള ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസ് എക്സ്പോഷർ, കുറഞ്ഞ ജനനഭാരം, മന്ദഗതിയിലുള്ള മോട്ടോർ വികസനം, ശ്രദ്ധ പ്രശ്നങ്ങൾ തുടങ്ങിയ ന്യൂറോളജിക്കൽ മാറ്റങ്ങളുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്ന് കണ്ടെത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.[44][47] ജനനത്തിനു മുമ്പുള്ള ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസിന്റെ എക്സ്പോഷർ ചരിത്രം ഉള്ള കുട്ടികളിൽ കുറഞ്ഞ ഐക്യു പ്രശ്നം ഉണ്ടെന്ന് തെളിയിക്കപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്.[48] അവർക്ക് ഓട്ടിസം, ശ്രദ്ധക്കുറവ് പ്രശ്നങ്ങൾ, വികസന വൈകല്യങ്ങൾ എന്നിവ ഉണ്ടാകാനുള്ള ഉയർന്ന സാധ്യതയുണ്ടെന്നും തെളിയിക്കപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്.[49] ജനനത്തിനു മുമ്പുള്ള ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസിന്റെ എക്സ്പോഷർ ചരിത്രം ഉള്ള കുട്ടികളിൽ ഉണ്ടാകുന്ന ന്യൂറോളജിക്കൽ തകരാറുകൾക്കായി 7 വയസ്സുള്ള കുട്ടികളുടെ ഒരു പഠനം നടത്തി. പഠനത്തിൽ കുട്ടികൾക്ക് വർക്കിംഗ് മെമ്മറിയിലും ഫുൾ സ്കെയിൽ ഇന്റലിജൻസ് ക്വാട്ടന്റിലും (ഐക്യു) കുറവുണ്ടെന്ന് കണ്ടെത്തി.[49] ചൈനീസ് ശിശുക്കളുടെ ഒരു പഠനത്തിൽ, ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസുമായി സമ്പർക്കം പുലർത്തുന്നവരിൽ അനൈശ്ചിക ചേഷ്ടകൾ, ചലനം, ഇറുക്കിപ്പിടിക്കൽ തുടങ്ങിയ മോട്ടോർ പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങളിൽ 9 മാസത്തിനുള്ളിൽ മറ്റുല്ലവരുമായി താരതമ്യപ്പെടുത്തുമ്പോൾ ഗണ്യമായ കുറവുണ്ടായി കണ്ടെത്തി.[50] പൊതുവെ ഓർഗാനോഫോസ്ഫേറ്റ് കീടനാശിനികളുടെ എക്സ്പോഷർ കുട്ടികളുടെ വൈജ്ഞാനിക, പെരുമാറ്റ, മോട്ടോർ പ്രകടനത്തിലെ മാറ്റങ്ങളുമായി കൂടുതലായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.[51][52] ശിശുക്കളായ ആൺകുട്ടികളേക്കാൾ ഓർഗാനോഫോസ്ഫേറ്റ് കീടനാശിനികളുടെ ദോഷകരമായ പ്രത്യാഘാതങ്ങൾക്ക് പെൺകുട്ടികൾ കൂടുതൽ ഇരയാകുന്നതായും കാണിക്കുന്നു.[50]

മൃഗ പരീക്ഷണങ്ങൾ: എലികളിൽ നടത്തിയ പരീക്ഷണങ്ങളിൽ, ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസിൻ്റെ ആദ്യകാല, ഹ്രസ്വകാല ലോ-ഡോസ് എക്സ്പോഷർ ശാശ്വത നാഡീസംബന്ധമായ മാറ്റങ്ങൾക്ക് കാരണമായതായും, മോട്ടോർ കഴിവുകളേക്കാൾ അവ ഇമോശണൽ പ്രോസസ്സിംഗിലും അറിവിലും വലിയ സ്വാധീനം ചെലുത്തിയതായും കണ്ടെത്തി.[44] അത്തരം എലികൾ വിഷാദരോഗവും ഉത്കണ്ഠ കുറവുമുള്ള പെരുമാറ്റം പ്രകടിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.[44] എലികളിൽ, തലച്ചോറിലെ ലൈംഗിക വ്യത്യാസങ്ങൾ വികസിക്കുന്ന കാലഘട്ടത്തിൽ ഇത് ഏറ്റവും കൂടിയ ന്യൂറോടോക്സിക് ഇഫക്റ്റുകൾ ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നു. എക്സ്പോഷർ സാധാരണ ലിംഗ വ്യത്യാസങ്ങൾ കുറയ്ക്കുന്നതിലേക്കോ വിപരീതമാക്കുന്നതിലേക്കോ നയിക്കുന്നു.[53] എലിയുടെ ജീവിതത്തിന്റെ തുടക്കത്തിലോ മുതിർന്നവരിലോ കുറഞ്ഞ അളവിൽ ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസ് എക്സ്പോഷർ ചെയ്യുന്നത് അവയുടെ മെറ്റബോളിസത്തെയും ശരീരഭാരത്തെയും ബാധിക്കുന്നു.[54] ഈ എലികൾ വർദ്ധിച്ച ശരീരഭാരവും കരൾ പ്രവർത്തനത്തിലെ മാറ്റങ്ങളും പ്രീ ഡയബറ്റിസിന് സമാനമായ രാസ സൂചകങ്ങളും കാണിക്കുന്നു, ഇത് സൈക്ലിക് എഎംപി സിസ്റ്റത്തിലെ മാറ്റങ്ങളുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.[54] സീബ്രാ മത്സ്യങ്ങലിലെ പരീക്ഷണങ്ങൾ അതിജീവനത്തിനും പ്രത്യുൽപാദന പ്രക്രിയകൾക്കും മോട്ടോർ പ്രവർത്തനത്തിനും കാര്യമായ ദോഷങ്ങൾ കാണിച്ചു. വ്യത്യസ്ത ഡോസുകൾ നൽകി 90 ദിവസത്തിന് ശേഷം ഭ്രൂണങ്ങളുടെ മരണനിരക്ക് 30%-100% ആയി. ഭ്രൂണങ്ങളിൽ മൈറ്റോസിസ് കുറയുന്നതായും അതിന്റെ ഫലമായി മരണനിരക്ക് അല്ലെങ്കിൽ വൈകല്യങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടാവുന്നതയും കാണിക്കുന്നു. സാധാരണയായി ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്ന മറ്റൊരു ഓർഗാനോഫോസ്ഫേറ്റ് കീടനാശിനിയായ ഡയസിനോണിനേക്കാൾ ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസിന് ഭ്രൂണങ്ങളെ കൂടുതൽ ബാധിച്ച് ഗുരുതരമായ രൂപ വൈകല്യങ്ങളും മരണനിരക്കും ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നുവെന്ന് ഇതേ പഠനം കാണിച്ചു.[55]

പ്രായപൂർത്തിയായവർ[തിരുത്തുക]

അക്യൂട്ട് എക്സ്പോഷർ അല്ലെങ്കിൽ ആവർത്തിച്ചുള്ള ലോ-ഡോസ് എക്സ്പോഷർ എന്നിവയ്ക്ക് ശേഷം മുതിർന്നവർക്ക് നീണ്ടുനിൽക്കുന്ന ആരോഗ്യപ്രശ്നങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടായേക്കാം. കർഷകത്തൊഴിലാളികൾക്കിടയിൽ, ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസ് ശ്വാസനാളത്തിന്റെ തടസ്സം ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നത് കാരണം ശ്വാസോച്ഛ്വാസം ചെയ്യുമ്പോൾ വിസിൽ പോലെ ശബ്ദം ഉണ്ടാകാനുള്ള സാധ്യത ചെറുതായി വർദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.[56]

പഠിച്ച 50 ഫാം കീടനാശിനികളിൽ, ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസ് ശ്വാസകോശ അർബുദ സാധ്യതയുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.[57][58]

ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസ് മീഥൈൽ[തിരുത്തുക]

ഡൗ കെമിക്കൽ കമ്പനി 1966-ൽ കുറഞ്ഞ അക്യൂട്ട് ടോക്സിസിറ്റി (WHO ക്ലാസ് III) ഉള്ള ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസ് മീഥൈൽ വികസിപ്പിച്ചെടുത്തു, എന്നാൽ ഇത് ഇപ്പോൾ വാണിജ്യ ഉപയോഗത്തിലില്ല. തന്മാത്ര ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസ് ഈഥൈലിന് സമാനമാണ്, എന്നാൽ O,O ഡൈമെഥൈൽ ചെയിൻ ആണ്.ഇതിൻറെ നിർദ്ദിഷ്ട ആപ്ലിക്കേഷനുകളിൽ വെക്റ്റർ നിയന്ത്രണം ഉൾപ്പെടുന്നു.[59]

മനുഷ്യ എക്സ്പോഷർ[തിരുത്തുക]

ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസ്, കഴിക്കുന്നത് വഴി (ഉദാ. സംസ്കരിച്ച ഉൽപ്പന്നങ്ങളിലെ അവശിഷ്ടങ്ങൾ, കുടിവെള്ളം), ശ്വസിക്കുന്നതിലൂടെ (പ്രത്യേകിച്ച് ഇൻഡോർ വായു), അല്ലെങ്കിൽ ആഗിരണം (അതായത്, ചർമ്മത്തിലൂടെ) വഴി മനുഷ്യ ശരീരത്തിൽ എത്താം. എന്നിരുന്നാലും, മറ്റ് ഓർഗാനോഫോസ്ഫേറ്റുകളുമായി താരതമ്യപ്പെടുത്തുമ്പോൾ, ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസ് പരിസ്ഥിതിയിൽ താരതമ്യേന വേഗത്തിൽ നശിക്കുന്നു. നാഷണൽ ഇൻസ്റ്റിറ്റ്യൂട്ട് ഓഫ് ഹെൽത്തിന്റെ അഭിപ്രായത്തിൽ, ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസിന്റെ അർദ്ധായുസ്സ് (അതായത്, രാസവസ്തുവിന്റെ സജീവ അളവ് 50% കുറയാൻ എടുക്കുന്ന കാലയളവ്) മണ്ണ് സംയോജിപ്പിച്ച പ്രയോഗങ്ങൾക്ക് സാധാരണയായി 33-56 ദിവസം വരെയാകാം. ഉപരിതല പ്രയോഗങ്ങൾക്ക് 7-15 ദിവസം; വെള്ളത്തിൽ, ഏകദേശം 25 ദിവസം, വായുവിൽ, നാല് മുതൽ പത്ത് ദിവസം വരെ എന്നിങ്ങനെയാണ് അർദ്ധായുസ്സ്.[60]

കർഷകത്തൊഴിലാളികളുടെ കുട്ടികളിൽ ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസ് സമ്പർക്കം വരാനുള്ള സാധ്യത കൂടുതലാണ്. വാഷിംഗ്ടൺ സ്റ്റേറ്റിലെ ഒരു കാർഷിക സമൂഹത്തിൽ നടത്തിയ ഒരു പഠനം കാണിക്കുന്നത് കൃഷിയിടങ്ങളോട് അടുത്ത് താമസിക്കുന്ന കുട്ടികളുടെ ശരീരത്തിൽ പൊടിയിൽ നിന്ന് ഉയർന്ന അളവിൽ ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസ് എത്തുന്നുവെന്നാണ്.[61] ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസ് വർക്ക് ബൂട്ടുകളിലും കുട്ടികളുടെ കൈകളിലും കണ്ടെത്തി, ഇത് കാർഷിക കുടുംബങ്ങൾ അവരുടെ ജോലിയിൽ നിന്ന് ഈ ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസ് വീട്ടിലേക്ക് എത്തിക്കുന്നുവെന്ന് കാണിക്കുന്നു.[61] നഗരങ്ങളിലെയും നഗരപ്രാന്തങ്ങളിലെയും കുട്ടികൾക്ക് അവരുടെ ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസ് എക്സ്പോഷറിന്റെ ഭൂരിഭാഗവും പഴങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നും പച്ചക്കറികളിൽ നിന്നും ലഭിക്കുന്നു.[62] കുട്ടികളുടെ എക്സ്പോഷർ സംബന്ധിച്ച് നോർത്ത് കരോലിനയിൽ നടത്തിയ ഒരു പഠനത്തിൽ, അവരുടെ വീടുകളിലെയും ഡേകെയറുകളിലെയും 50% ഭക്ഷണം, പൊടി, വായു സാമ്പിളുകൾ എന്നിവയിൽ ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസ് കണ്ടെത്തിയതായി കാണിച്ചു, എക്സ്പോഷറിന്റെ പ്രധാന മാർഗ്ഗം കഴിക്കുന്നതിലൂടെയാണ്.[63] കീടനാശിനികൾ പ്രയോഗിക്കുന്നവർ, കൃഷിയിടങ്ങളിൽ ജോലി ചെയ്യുന്നവർ, അല്ലെങ്കിൽ കാർഷിക സമൂഹങ്ങളിൽ താമസിക്കുന്നവർ തുടങ്ങിയ ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസുമായി കൂടുതൽ സമ്പർക്കം പുലർത്തുന്ന മറ്റ് ചില ജനവിഭാഗങ്ങലുടെ മൂത്രത്തിലൂടെയുള്ള TCPy പുറന്തള്ളൽ സാധരണക്കാരുടെ ലെവലുകളേക്കാൾ 5-10 മടങ്ങ് കൂടുതലാണ് എന്ന് കണ്ടെത്തി.[64][65][66]

കാലിഫോർണിയ എയർ റിസോഴ്‌സ് ബോർഡ് (CARB) നടത്തിയ എയർ മോണിറ്ററിംഗ് പഠനങ്ങൾ കാലിഫോർണിയ കമ്മ്യൂണിറ്റികളുടെ അന്തരീക്ഷത്തിൽ ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസ് രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയിരുന്നു.[67] ഉയർന്ന ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസ് ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്ന പ്രദേശങ്ങളിൽ താമസിക്കുന്ന കുട്ടികൾ പലപ്പോഴും ഇപിഎ ഡോസേജുകൾ കവിയുന്ന അളവുകൾക്ക് വിധേയമാകുമെന്ന് വിശകലനങ്ങൾ സൂചിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.[68][69] പാസീവ് എയർ സാമ്പിളുകൾ ഉപയോഗിച്ച് വാഷിംഗ്ടൺ സ്റ്റേറ്റിൽ നടത്തിയ ഒരു പഠനത്തിൽ, ഫലവൃക്ഷങ്ങളുടെ വയലിൽ നിന്ന് 250 മീറ്ററിൽ താഴെ താമസിക്കുന്ന വീടുകളിൽ കൂടുതൽ അകലെയുള്ള വീടുകളേക്കാൾ ഉയർന്ന അളവിൽ ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസ് സാന്ദ്രത ഉണ്ടെന്ന് കാണിച്ചു.[70] 2006-ൽ വാഷിംഗ്ടണിലും കാലിഫോർണിയയിലെ ലിൻഡ്സെയിലും, എയർ സാമ്പിളുകൾ നിരീക്ഷിച്ചു.[71] ഈ പഠനങ്ങളിൽ രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്ന വായുവിന്റെ അളവ് കാര്യമായ എക്സ്പോഷറോ പ്രതികൂല ഫലങ്ങളോ ഉണ്ടാക്കാൻ പര്യാപ്തമല്ലെന്ന് കർഷകരും കീടനാശിനി വ്യവസായ ഗ്രൂപ്പുകളും വാദിച്ചു.[72] ലിൻഡ്‌സെയിൽ നടത്തിയ ഒരു ഫോളോ-അപ്പ് ബയോ മോണിറ്ററിംഗ് പഠനവും അവിടെ സാധാരണയിൽ കവിഞ്ഞ ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസിന്റെ അളവ് ഉള്ളതായി കാണിച്ചു.[73][74]

വന്യജീവികളെ ബാധിക്കുന്നത്[തിരുത്തുക]

ജലജീവികൾ[തിരുത്തുക]

ശുദ്ധജല ജലജീവികളിൽ, രൂക്ഷമായ എക്സ്പോഷറിനോട് ക്രസ്റ്റേഷ്യനുകളും പ്രാണികളും മത്സ്യങ്ങളേക്കാൾ കൂടുതൽ സെൻസിറ്റീവ് ആണെന്ന് കാണിക്കുന്നു.[75] ജലജീവികളായ പ്രാണികളും മൃഗങ്ങളും ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസ് ഭക്ഷണത്തിലൂടെയോ അവശിഷ്ടങ്ങളുടെ സമ്പർക്കത്തിലൂടെയോ കഴിക്കുന്നതിനുപകരം വെള്ളത്തിൽ നിന്ന് നേരിട്ട് ആഗിരണം ചെയ്യുന്നതായും കാണിക്കുന്നു.[75]

നദികളിലേക്ക് പുറന്തള്ളുന്ന സാന്ദ്രീകൃത ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസ് പ്രാണികളെയും ചെമ്മീനിനെയും മത്സ്യങ്ങളെയും നശിപ്പിച്ചതായി കണ്ടെത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. ബ്രിട്ടനിൽ, റോഡിംഗ് (1985), ഔസ് (2001), വെയ് (2002 & 2003), കെന്നറ്റ് (2013) എന്നീ നദികളിൽ സാന്ദ്രീകൃത ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസിന്റെ ചെറിയ റിലീസുകളുടെ ഫലമായി പ്രാണികളും ചെമ്മീനുകളും മത്സ്യങ്ങളും കൊല്ലപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്.[76][77]

തേനീച്ചകൾ[തിരുത്തുക]

ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസിന്റെ രൂക്ഷമായ എക്സ്പോഷർ (വായിലൂടെ എൽഡി50 360ng/bee, കോൺടാക്റ്റ് LD50 70 ng/bee) തേനീച്ചകൾക്ക് നാശം ഉണ്ടാക്കും.[30] അതുകൊണ്ട് വാഷിംഗ്ടൺ സ്റ്റേറ്റിനായുള്ള മാർഗ്ഗനിർദ്ദേശങ്ങൾ, ഫലവൃക്ഷങ്ങൾ പോലുള്ള പൂച്ചെടികളിൽ പൂവിടുമ്പോൾ 4-6 ദിവസത്തിനുള്ളിൽ ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസ് ഉൽപ്പന്നങ്ങൾ പ്രയോഗിക്കരുതെന്ന് നിർദ്ദേശിക്കുന്നു.[78]

നിയന്ത്രണങ്ങൾ[തിരുത്തുക]

ഇന്ത്യ[തിരുത്തുക]

എഫ്എസ്എസ്എഐ (ഫുഡ് സേഫ്റ്റി ആൻറ് സ്റ്റാൻഡേർഡ് അതോറിറ്റി ഓഫ് ഇന്ത്യ) ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസിന് നിലവിൽ പരിധി നിശ്ചയിച്ചിട്ടില്ല.[79] ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസ് വിൽപന അനുവദിക്കുന്നതിനായി ഇന്ത്യൻ ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥർക്ക് കൈക്കൂലി നൽകിയതിന് 2007-ൽ ഡൗ കുറ്റക്കാരനാണെന്ന് ഇന്ത്യയുടെ സെൻട്രൽ ബ്യൂറോ ഓഫ് ഇൻവെസ്റ്റിഗേഷൻ കണ്ടെത്തിയതിനെത്തുടർന്ന് 2010-ൽ ഇന്ത്യ ഡൗവിനെ വാണിജ്യ പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങളിൽ നിന്ന് 5 വർഷത്തേക്ക് വിലക്കിയിരുന്നു.[80] 2020ൽ ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസ് ഉൾപ്പടെ 27 കീടനാശിനികൾ നിരോധിക്കാൻ തീരുമാനിച്ച് കേന്ദ്ര സർക്കാർ കരട് ഉത്തരവ് ഇറക്കിയിരുന്നു.[81]

സിംഗപ്പൂർ[തിരുത്തുക]

2009 ലെ കണക്കനുസരിച്ച് സിംഗപ്പൂരിൽ ചിതൽ നിയന്ത്രണത്തിൽ ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസ് ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നത് നിയന്ത്രിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.

ദക്ഷിണാഫ്രിക്ക[തിരുത്തുക]

2010 മുതൽ ഇത് സൗത്ത് ആഫ്രിക്കയിൽ പാർപ്പിട ഉപയോഗത്തിൽ നിന്ന് നിരോധിച്ചിരുന്നു.[82][83]

യുകെ[തിരുത്തുക]

തൈകൾ നനയ്ക്കുന്നതിനുള്ള പരിമിതമായ ഉപയോഗത്തിന് പുറമെയുള്ള മറ്റ് ഉപയോഗങ്ങൾ 2016-ൽ യുണൈറ്റഡ് കിംഗ്ഡത്തിൽ നിരോധിച്ചു.[84]

സ്വീഡൻ[തിരുത്തുക]

സ്വീഡനിൽ കാർഷിക ഉപയോഗത്തിന് ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസ് ഇതുവരെയും അംഗീകരിച്ചിട്ടില്ല.[85]

ഓസ്ട്രേലിയ[തിരുത്തുക]

ഓസ്‌ട്രേലിയൻ പെസ്റ്റിസൈട്സ് വെറ്ററിനറി മെഡിസിൻ അതോറിറ്റിയുടെ ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസ് കെമിക്കൽ അവലോകനം പുരോഗമിക്കുകയാണ്.[86]

ഡെൻമാർക്ക്[തിരുത്തുക]

ഹരിതഗൃഹങ്ങളിൽ വളരുന്ന അലങ്കാര സസ്യങ്ങൾ ഒഴികെ മറ്റൊരിടത്തും ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസ് ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നത് ഡെന്മാർക്കിൽ അംഗീകരിച്ചിട്ടില്ല. ഈ ഉപയോഗവും 2012 ൽ നിരോധിച്ചു.[87]

യൂറോപ്യന് യൂണിയൻ[തിരുത്തുക]

2008-ൽ വിൽപന നിരോധിക്കുന്നതുവരെ യൂറോപ്പിലെ വീടുകളിലെയും വാണിജ്യ കെട്ടിടങ്ങളിലെയും പ്രാണികളുടെ ആക്രമണം നിയന്ത്രിക്കാൻ ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസ് ഉപയോഗിച്ചിരുന്നു.[88]

തായ് നിയമപ്രകാരം ക്ലോർപൈറിഫോസ് 2020 ജൂൺ 1 മുതൽ നിരോധിച്ചു. കർഷകർക്ക് അവരുടെ സ്റ്റോക്ക് നശിപ്പിക്കാൻ 270 ദിവസത്തെ സമയം അനുവദിച്ചു, അതല്ലാതെ നശിപ്പിക്കാനായി രാസവസ്തുക്കൾ തിരികെ നൽകാൻ കർഷകർക്ക് 90 ദിവസത്തെ സമയപരിധിയും നൽകി. സമയപരിധിക്ക് ശേഷം, അനധികൃത കാർഷിക രാസവസ്തുക്കൾ കൈവശം വയ്ക്കുന്ന ഏതൊരു വ്യക്തിക്കും ഒരു ദശലക്ഷം ബാറ്റ് പിഴയോ 10 വർഷം തടവോ അല്ലെങ്കിൽ രണ്ടും കൂടിയോ ലഭിക്കും.[91]
