ക്രെപ്പിഡിയം ഒരു ഓർക്കിഡ് ജനുസാണ്. മലാക്സിസിന്റെ പര്യായമായാണ് മുൻപ് ഇതിനെ കണക്കാക്കിയിരുന്നത്. പിന്നീട് ഇത് അംഗീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ട പേരായി.[3] ഇന്ത്യൻ ഉപഭൂഖണ്ഡം, ചൈന, തെക്കുകിഴക്കെ ഏഷ്യ(ഇന്തോചൈന, മലേഷ്യ, ഇന്തോനേഷ്യ, ഫിലിപ്പീൻസ് തുടങ്ങിയ രാജ്യങ്ങൾ) വടക്കൻ ആസ്ത്രേലിയ, ന്യൂഗിനിയ ശാന്തസമുദ്രത്തിലെയും ഇന്ത്യൻ മഹാസമുദ്രത്തിലെയും ദ്വീപുകൾ എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിൽ സ്വദേശികളായ 200 സ്പീഷീസുകൾ ഉള്ള ജനുസാണിത്.[2][4][5]
