കോപ്റ്റിക് ഓർത്തഡോക്സ് സഭയുടെ പ്രധാന മേലദ്ധ്യക്ഷനും പരമാചാര്യനുമാണ് അലക്സാണ്ട്രിയയുടെ കോപ്റ്റിക് ഓർത്തഡോക്സ് പാപ്പ. പാപ്പ (കോപ്റ്റിക്: Ⲡⲁⲡⲁ, പാപ്പാ; അറബി: البابا, അൽ-ബാബ), അലക്സാണ്ട്രിയയുടെ മെത്രാൻ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ പിതാവ്, ഇടയന്മാരുടെ ഇടയൻ എന്നൊക്കെ അദ്ദേഹം അറിയപ്പെടുന്നു.
അലക്സാണ്ട്രിയയുടെ പാപ്പയും വിശുദ്ധ മാർക്കോസിന്റെ പരിശുദ്ധ അപ്പസ്തോലിക സിംഹാസനത്തിലെ പാത്രിയർക്കീസും എന്നാണ് സ്ഥാനികനാമം.
2012 നവംബർ 18-ന് തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ട തവാദറോസ് രണ്ടാമനാണ് ഇപ്പോഴത്തെ കോപ്റ്റിക് പാപ്പ. 118-ാമത് പാപ്പയാണ് അദ്ദേഹം.
വാക്കിന്റെ ആവിർഭാവം
[തിരുത്തുക]പിതാവ് എന്നർത്ഥമുള്ള പാപ്പാസ് (ഗ്രീക്ക്: παπάς) എന്ന ഗ്രീക്ക് പദത്തിൽ നിന്നാണു പാപ്പാ എന്ന പദമുണ്ടായത്. അതിൽ നിന്നു ഇങ്ഗ്ലീഷിലെ പോപ്പ് (Pope) എന്ന പദമുണ്ടായി.
ചരിത്രത്തിൽ
[തിരുത്തുക]കോപ്റ്റിക് സഭയുടെ മേലദ്ധ്യക്ഷനായ കോപ്റ്റിക് പാപ്പ ക്രൈസ്തവലോകത്തെ പ്രമുഖരിൽ ഒരാളായി കണക്കാക്കപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു. അലക്സാണ്ഡ്രിയയിലെ പതിമൂന്നാമത്തെ ബിഷപ്പായ ഹെരാക്ലസ് പാപ്പ (ക്രി. വ. 231-248) ആണു ക്രൈസ്തവ ലോകത്ത് ആദ്യമായി പാപ്പ എന്നു സംബോധന ചെയ്യപ്പെട്ട സഭാതലവൻ. ബൈബിളിലെ 27 പുതിയനിയമപുസ്തകങ്ങളുടെ പട്ടിക ആദ്യമായി പുറത്തുവന്നത് ക്രി.വ. 369-ൽ അലക്സാണ്ട്രിയയിലെ പാപ്പയായിരുന്ന മാർ അത്താനാസിയോസ് (ക്രി.വ. 396-373) പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ച ഈസ്റ്റർ ചാക്രിക ലേഖനത്തിലൂടെ ആയിരുന്നു [1].
ഈജിപ്തിലെ പ്രോട്ടോക്കോൾ അനുസരിച്ചു് പൊതുവേദിയിൽ പ്രധാനമന്ത്രിയുടേതിനോടൊപ്പം സ്ഥാനം ലോക സുന്നിമുസ്ലീം പഠനകേന്ദ്രമായ അൽ അസ്ഹർ സർവകലാശാലയുടെ ഗ്രാൻഡ് ഷെയ്ക്കിനും അലക്സാണ്ട്രിയാ പാപ്പയ്ക്കാ ഉണ്ട്.
