മദ്രാസ് ഹൈക്കോടതിയിലെ ഒരു ന്യായാധിപനായിരുന്നു കെ. ചന്ദ്രു[1]. 1995-ൽ അഭിഭാഷകനായിരിക്കെ ഇടപെട്ട ഒരു കേസിന്റെ പേരിൽ പ്രസിദ്ധനായ അദ്ദേഹം, 2006-ലാണ് ഹൈക്കോടതിയിലെ ന്യായാധിപനായി സ്ഥാനമേൽക്കുന്നത്. 2014 വരെ നീണ്ട ന്യായാധിപ കാലയളവിൽ 96000 കേസുകൾക്ക് തീർപ്പാക്കിയെന്നാണ് കണക്ക്.[1][2][3][4][5]
ജീവിതരേഖ[തിരുത്തുക]
തമിഴ്‍നാട്ടിലെ തിരുച്ചിറപ്പള്ളി ജില്ലയിലെ ശ്രീരംഗത്തിലാണ് ചന്ദ്രുവിന്റെ ജനനം. [1] ഇടത് വിദ്യാർത്ഥി പ്രസ്ഥാനത്തിൽ സജീവമായിരുന്ന ചന്ദ്രു, ബിരുദാനന്തരം സി.പി.ഐ.എം പ്രവർത്തകനായി മുഴുസമയം പ്രവർത്തിച്ചുവന്നു. സംസ്ഥാനത്തുടനീളം സഞ്ചരിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് സാമൂഹിക പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങളിലേർപ്പെട്ട അദ്ദേഹം 1988-ൽ പാർട്ടിയിൽ നിന്ന് പുറത്താക്കപ്പെടുന്നത് വരെ അങ്ങനെ തുടർന്നു[6].
അഭിഭാഷകനായ അദ്ദേഹം വിവിധങ്ങളായ സിവിൽ-ക്രിമിനൽ കേസുകൾ വാദിച്ചുവന്നു. 2006-ൽ അഡീഷണൽ ജഡ്ജിയായി ഹൈക്കോടതിയിൽ ചുമതലയേറ്റ ചന്ദ്രു, 2009-ൽ സ്ഥിരം ജഡ്ജിയായി[7].
ദരിദ്രരും അധസ്ഥിതരുമായ വ്യക്തികൾക്ക് അനുഗുണമായ നിരവധി വിധിന്യായങ്ങളാൽ ചന്ദ്രു അറിയപ്പെടുന്നു[8][9][10].
ചന്ദ്രു വാദിച്ച ഒരു കേസ് ഇതിവൃത്തമാക്കിക്കൊണ്ടാണ് 2021-ലെ ജയ് ഭീം എന്ന ചലചിത്രം രൂപപ്പെടുന്നത്.
