കെന്നത്ത് ഫ്രാൻസിസ് വാക്കർ
ഒരു ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് വംശജനായ കനേഡിയൻ മെഡിക്കൽ എഴുത്തുകാരനും സെലിബ്രിറ്റി ഡോക്ടറും[1] വിരമിച്ച പ്രസവചികിത്സകനും ഗൈനക്കോളജിസ്റ്റുമാണ് കെന്നത്ത് ഫ്രാൻസിസ് വാക്കർ (ജനനം ഫെബ്രുവരി 28, 1924). ഒരു എഴുത്തുകാരനും കോളമിസ്റ്റും എന്ന നിലയിൽ അദ്ദേഹം W. Gifford-Jones, M.D. എന്ന തൂലികാനാമത്തിൽ പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിക്കുന്നു.[1]
പശ്ചാത്തലം[തിരുത്തുക]
1924-ൽ ഇംഗ്ലണ്ടിലെ ക്രോയ്ഡണിലാണ് വാക്കർ ജനിച്ചത്. ഒന്റാറിയോയിലെ നയാഗ്ര വെള്ളച്ചാട്ടത്തിൽ സ്ഥിരതാമസമാക്കിയ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് 4 വയസ്സുള്ളപ്പോൾ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ കുടുംബം കാനഡയിലേക്ക് മാറി.[2]
വാക്കർ ടൊറന്റോ സർവ്വകലാശാലയിൽ നിന്ന് ബിരുദാനന്തര ബിരുദം നേടി, 1950-ൽ ഹാർവാർഡ് മെഡിക്കൽ സ്കൂളിൽ നിന്ന് ബിരുദം നേടി.[3]
പിന്നീടുള്ള ജീവിതം[തിരുത്തുക]
വാക്കർ 87-ാം വയസ്സിൽ തന്റെ പരിശീലനത്തിൽ നിന്ന് വിരമിച്ചു. ഇപ്പോൾ ടൊറന്റോയിലെ ഹാർബർഫ്രണ്ട് പരിസരത്ത് 60 വർഷത്തിലേറെ ഭാര്യയോടൊപ്പം താമസിക്കുന്നു.[2]
