ഹിന്ദുമതത്തിലെ ഒരു ദേവനാണ് കൃഷ്ണൻ.
കൃഷ്ണൻ (കൃഷ്ണ) എന്ന പദത്താൽ വിവക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുന്ന പലകാര്യങ്ങളുണ്ട്:
ഹിന്ദുമതം
[തിരുത്തുക]- The name comes from a Sanskrit word (कृष्ण, kṛṣṇa) that means 'black' or 'dark blue'. Certain other figures within Hinduism also have names transliterated as Krishna. These include (with added phonetic spellings);
- വ്യാസൻ - Kṛṣṇa Dvaipāyana (the dark one born on an island)
- ദ്രൗപദി - Kṛṣṇā Pānchali, कृष्णा, Krishnaa (the dark one the princess of Panchala, feminine form)
- അർജുനൻ - he is called Kṛṣṇa in one instance toward the end of his life
- ദുർഗ - she is called Kṛṣṇā in the Virataparva (feminine form).
