കാനക്കത്രികക്കിളിയ്ക്ക് ആംഗലത്തിലെ നാമം Hill swallow എന്നും ശാസ്ത്രീയ നാമം Hirundo domicolaഎന്നുമാണ്.[2][3] സ്ഥിരവാസിയായ പക്ഷിയാണ്. തീരങ്ങളിൽ കാണുന്ന പക്ഷിയാണെങ്കിലും കാടുകളിലേക്ക് പരക്കുന്നതായി കണ്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്. [4]
രൂപ വിവരണം
[തിരുത്തുക]ഈ പക്ഷിയ്ക്ക് 13 സെ.മീ. നീളം. നീല കലർന്ന കറുപ്പു നിറവും തവിട്ടു നിറവുമുള്ള ചിറകും വാലുമുണ്ട്. ചുവന്ന മുഖവും കഴുത്തും.മങ്ങിയ അടിവശം. ഇവയ്ക്ക് വയൽകോതി കത്രികയെ അപേക്ഷിച്ച് ചെറിയ വാലും അധികം ഫോർക്ക്ല്പോലല്ലാത്ത വാലും ആണുള്ളത്. [4][5]
പ്രജനനം
[തിരുത്തുക]ഇവ തെക്കൻഏഷ്യയിലെ ഉഷ്ണമേഖല പ്രദേശങ്ങളിൽ പ്രജനനം നടത്തുന്നു. കാനക്കത്രികക്കിളി വൃത്തിയുള്ള കോപ്പപോലെയുള്ള കൂടാണ് ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നത്. മണ്ണുരുളകൾ കൊണ്ടൂള്ള കൂട് കിഴക്കാം തൂക്കായ പാറകളിലും കെട്ടിടങ്ങളിലും മറ്റും ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നു. ഉൾഭാഗം മൃദുവാക്കിയിരിക്കും. 2-3 മുട്ടകൾ ഇടുന്നു.
ഭക്ഷണം
[തിരുത്തുക]വേഗത്തിൽ പറക്കുന്ന ഈ പക്ഷി പറക്കുന്ന പ്രാണികളെയാണ് പറന്ന് ഭക്ഷിക്കുന്നത്[4]
