പോമറെയിൻ മുൾവാലൻ സ്കുവയ്ക്ക് ഇംഗ്ലീഷിൽ pomarine skua, pomatorhine skua, pomarine jaeger എന്നു പേരുകളുണ്ട്Stercorarius pomarinus എന്നാണ് ശാസ്ത്രീയ നാമം. ദേശാടന പക്ഷിയാണ്.
രൂപ വിവരണം[തിരുത്തുക]
പക്ഷിക്ക് 46- 67 സെ.മീ. നീളം, 110 – 138 സെ.മീ. കിറകു വിരിപ്പ്, 540 -920 ഗ്രം തൂക്കം [2][3][4] തടിച്ച, വീതികൂടിയ ചിറകുള്ളപക്ഷിയാണ്. തലയും കഴുത്തും മഞ്ഞകലർന്ന വെള്ള , കറുത്ത ഉച്ചി. ചിറകിൽ വെള്ള നിറം. വാലിന്റെ നടുവിലെ രണ്ടു തൂവലുകൾക്ക് നീളം കൂടുതൽ.
പ്രജനനം[തിരുത്തുക]
നിലത്തുണ്ടാക്കുന്ന കുഴിയിൽ പുല്ലു് ഉള്ളിൽ വെച്ചിട്ടിള്ള കൂട്ടിൽ 2 – 3 മുട്ടകളിടും.
തീറ്റ[തിരുത്തുക]
മത്സ്യം, ചീഞ്ഞളിഞ്ഞ മാംസം, വ്ഹെറിയ പക്ഷികൾ, കർണ്ടു തിന്നുന്ന ജീവികൾ എന്നിവയാണ് ഭക്ഷണം.
