ഉന്നതവിദ്യാഭ്യാസ മേഖലയിലെ സ്വയംഭരണാധികാരമുള്ള സർക്കാർ പബ്ലിക് മെഡിക്കൽ കോളേജുകളുടെ ഒരു കൂട്ടമാണ് ഓൾ ഇന്ത്യ ഇൻസ്റ്റിറ്റ്യൂട്ട് ഓഫ് മെഡിക്കൽ സയൻസസ് (എയിംസ്) . പാർലമെന്റ് നിയമം വഴി ഈ സ്ഥാപനങ്ങളെ ദേശീയ പ്രാധാന്യമുള്ള സ്ഥാപനങ്ങളായി പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചു. 1956 ലെ “ഓൾ ഇന്ത്യ ഇൻസ്റ്റിറ്റ്യൂട്ട് ഓഫ് മെഡിക്കൽ സയൻസസ് ആക്റ്റ്” അനുസരിച്ചാണ് അവ പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നത്‌. ചരിത്രം[തിരുത്തുക]

ഇന്ത്യയിലെ ആദ്യത്തെ എയിംസ് 1956 ൽ ഡെൽഹിയിൽ സ്ഥാപിതമായി. അന്നത്തെ പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി ജവഹർലാൽ നെഹ്‌റു കൊൽക്കത്തയിൽ സ്ഥാപിക്കണമെന്ന് ആദ്യം നിർദ്ദേശിച്ച ഇത്, പശ്ചിമ ബംഗാൾ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി ബിദാൻ ചന്ദ്ര റോയ് നിരസിച്ചതിനെത്തുടർന്നാണ് ന്യൂഡൽഹിയിൽ സ്ഥാപിച്ചത്. [3]

2003 ൽ കേന്ദ്രസർക്കാർ പ്രധാൻ മന്ത്രി സ്വാസ്ഥ്യ സുരക്ഷാ യോജന (പി.എം.എസ്.എസ്.വൈ) പദ്ധതി പ്രകാരം "ഇന്ത്യയിലെ ആരോഗ്യ സേവനങ്ങളുടെ ലഭ്യതയിലെ പ്രാദേശിക അസന്തുലിതാവസ്ഥ പരിഹരിക്കുക”. എന്നതാണ് എയിംസിന്റെ ലക്ഷ്യമെന്ന് നിർവചിക്കപ്പെട്ടു. 2006 മാർച്ചിൽ പി.എം.എസ്.എസ്.വൈ ഔദ്യോഗികമായി ആരംഭിച്ചു. തുടർന്ന് പട്‌ന, ഭോപ്പാൽ, റായ്പൂർ, ഭുവനേശ്വർ, ജോധ്പൂർ, ഋ​ഷികേശ് എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിൽ എയിംസ് പോലുള്ള ആറ് മെഡിക്കൽ സ്ഥാപനങ്ങൾ പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചു. സ്ഥാപനങ്ങൾ[തിരുത്തുക]

എയിംസ് സ്ഥാപനങ്ങളുടെ പട്ടിക: 2022 ജനുവരിയിലെ കണക്കുകൾ പ്രകാരം, 5 എയിംസുകൾ നിർമാണത്തിലിരിക്കുന്നു. 2022 ഫെബ്രുവരിയിൽ, കേന്ദ്ര ആരോഗ്യമന്ത്രാലയം 24 എയിംസുകളും 2025 ഫെബ്രുവരിയോടെ പ്രവർത്തനക്ഷമമാകുമെന്ന് അറിയിച്ചു.[5].[6] അരുണാചൽ പ്രദേശ്, ഗോവ, കർണാടകം, കേരളം, മിസോറം, ത്രിപുര എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിൽ എയിംസ് ആരംഭിക്കുന്നതിനും ആലോചനകളുണ്ട്.[6]
