ആദ്യകാല ജീവിതവും വിദ്യാഭ്യാസവും[തിരുത്തുക]
1947-ൽ സിൻസിനാറ്റിയിലെ (ഒഹായോ) വെസ്റ്റ് എൻഡ് അയൽപക്കത്താണ് ഓവൻസ് ഓഡെൽ ഓവൻസ്[8]ജനിച്ചത്.[9] ഓഡെൽ ഓവൻസിന്റെയും ആഞ്ചെലിറ്റ മൊറേനോ ഓവൻസിന്റെയും ഏഴ് മക്കളിൽ രണ്ടാമത്തെ മൂത്തയാളായിരുന്നു അദ്ദേഹം. അമ്മൂമ്മയുടെ ഉടമസ്ഥതയിലുള്ള വീട്ടിലാണ് ഇവർ ദാരിദ്ര്യത്തിൽ കഴിഞ്ഞിരുന്നത്. അവന് 12 വയസ്സുള്ളപ്പോൾ അമ്മ സ്ട്രോക്ക് ബാധിച്ച് മരിച്ചു. 1960-ൽ, സിൻസിനാറ്റി മെട്രോപൊളിറ്റൻ മാസ്റ്റർ പ്ലാൻ പ്രകാരം നഗരം പൊളിക്കുന്നതിനുള്ള പദ്ധതികളുടെ ഭാഗമായി, ഓവൻസിന്റെ മുത്തശ്ശി നഗരത്തിന് വീട് വിൽക്കാൻ നിർബന്ധിതയായി; നോർത്ത് അവോൻഡേലിലെ ഒരു വീടിന്റെ ഡൗൺ പേയ്‌മെന്റിനാണ് പണം ഉപയോഗിച്ചത്. ഓവൻസ് തന്റെ എട്ടാം ക്ലാസ്സ് വർഷം വാൾനട്ട് ഹിൽസ് ഹൈസ്കൂളിൽ നിന്ന് പുറത്തായി. 1963-ൽ, ജോലിയില്ലാത്തപ്പോൾ പ്രായംചെന്ന ഓവൻസ് ഏഴ് കുട്ടികളെ വളർത്താനുള്ള ബുദ്ധിമുട്ട് കാരണം കുടുംബത്തെ ഡിട്രോയിറ്റിലേക്ക് മാറ്റി. ക്ലിന്റണിന്റെയും കാതറിൻ ബുഫോർഡിന്റെയും സംരക്ഷണത്തിൽ അദ്ദേഹം ഓഡെൽ വിട്ടു. അവരുടെ രണ്ട് ആൺമക്കൾ ഓഡെൽ ബേബി സിറ്റിംഗ് നടത്തിയിരുന്നു.[6][9][10][11]
