എനിഡ് മേരി ബ്ലേറ്റൺ (ജീവിതകാലം: 11 ആഗസ്റ്റ് 1897 – 28 നവംബർ 1968) കുട്ടികളുടെ പുസ്തകങ്ങളുടെ രചയിതാവായ ഇംഗ്ലീഷ്‍ എഴുത്തുകാരിയാണ്. 1930 കൾ മുതൽ അവരുടെ പുസ്തകങ്ങൾ ലോകവ്യാപകമായി ഏറ്റവും കൂടുതൽ വിറ്റഴിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. അവരുടെ ഗ്രന്ഥങ്ങളുടെ ഏകദേശം 600 മില്ല്യൺ കോപ്പികളിലധികം വിറ്റഴിക്കപ്പെട്ടതായി കണക്കാക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. അവരുടെ പുസ്തകങ്ങൾ ഇക്കാലത്തും അറിയപ്പെടുന്നവയാണ്. എനിഡ് മേരിയുടെ പുസ്തകങ്ങൾ 90 ഭാഷകളിലേയ്ക്കു വിവിർത്തനം ചെയ്യപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്. അവരുടെ ആദ്യം പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ട കൃതി 1922 ലെ “Child Whispers” എന്ന പേരിലുള്ള 24 പേജുകളുള്ള കവിതാസമാഹാരമായിരുന്നു. ചരിത്രം, വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം, നിഗൂഢത, ഫാൻറസി തുടങ്ങി വിവിധവിഷയങ്ങലെ ആസ്പദമാക്കി അനേകം ഗ്രന്ഥങ്ങൾ രചിച്ചിരുന്നു.

അവരുടെ ആദ്യകാലനോവലുകളായ “Adventures of the Wishing Chair” (1937), ഠThe Enchanted Wood” (1939) എന്നിവ വളരെയധികം വിജയിച്ച നോവലുകളായിരുന്നു. ഒരു വർഷത്തിൽ 50 പുസ്തകങ്ങൾവരെ രചിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.

എനിഡ് ബ്ലേറ്റൺ 1897 ആഗ്സ്റ്റ് 11 ന് തെക്കൻ ലണ്ടനിലെ ഈസ്റ്റ് ഡൾവിച്ചിലാണ് ജനിച്ചത്. മാതാപിതാക്കൾ തോമസ് കാരേ ബ്ലേറ്റണും (1870–1920), തെരേസ മേരിയുമായിരുന്നു (1874–1950). മാതാപിതക്കളുടെ മൂന്നുകുട്ടികളിൽ മൂത്തയാളായിരുന്നു എനിഡ്. 1907 മുതൽ 1915 വരെയുള്ള കാലത്ത് അവർ ബെക്കൻഹാമിലെ സെൻറ് ക്രിസ്റ്റഫേർസ് സ്കൂളിൽ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം ചെയ്തിരുന്നു. അവർ ഒരു സംഗീതജ്ഞയാകണമെന്ന് ആഗ്രഹിച്ചിരുന്ന പിതാവ് അവരെ പിയാനോ വായിക്കാൻ പഠിപ്പിക്കുകയും അവർ അതിൽ അഗ്രഗണ്യയാകുകയും ചെയ്തു. ഗ്വിൽഡ്ഹാൾ സ്കൂൾ ഓഫ് മ്യൂസിക്കിൽ പഠനത്തിനു ചേർന്നുവെങ്കിലും തനിക്കു യോജിച്ചത് എഴുത്തിൻറെ ലോകമാണെന്ന് അവർ മനസ്സിലാക്കുകയും താമസിയാതെ സാഹിത്യരചനയിലേയ്ക്കു തിരിയുകയും ചെയ്തു.
