തേരട്ട ഇനത്തിൽപ്പെട്ട ഒരു ആർത്രോപോഡ ആണ് ഉണ്ടത്തേരട്ട അഥവാ പന്തട്ട (Pill millipedes). Glomerida, Sphaerotheriida, വംശനാശം വന്ന Amynilyspedida വിഭാഗങ്ങളിയായി ഇവയ്ക്ക് അനേകം സ്പീഷീസുകൾ ഉണ്ട് [2][3] [4][5][6][7][8][6][9][10][11][12]

മറ്റ് തേരട്ടകളെ അപേക്ഷിച്ച് നീളം കുറഞ്ഞവയാണ് പന്തട്ടകൾ. ഇവയ്ക്ക് പതിനൊന്ന് മുതൽ പതിമൂന്ന് വരെ ശരീര ഖണ്ഡങ്ങളുണ്ട്[10]. ശല്യപ്പെടുത്തിയാൽ, ഇവ ഒരു പന്തുപോലെ ചുരുളുന്നു.   ശത്രുക്കളിൽ നിന്ന് രക്ഷതേടൽ അനുകൂലനം ആണ് ഈ പ്രവർത്തനം. ശത്രുക്കളുടെ നേരെ ഇത് പുറപ്പെടുവിക്കുന്ന ഒരു ദ്രാവകം വിഷാംശമുള്ളതാണ്.[3]. ഡെട്രിവോറസ് വിഭാഗത്തിൽപ്പെടുത്താവുന്ന പന്തട്ടയുടെ ഭക്ഷണം സസ്യാവശിഷ്ടങ്ങളാണ്.
