ഇന്ത്യയിലെ ആസാമിൽ നിന്നുള്ള ഒരു പ്രശസ്ത നാടോടി ഗായികയായിരുന്നു അർച്ചന മഹന്ത (ആസാമീസ്: অৰ্চনা মহন্ত) (18 മാർച്ച് 1949 - 27 ഓഗസ്റ്റ് 2020). ആസാമീസ് നാടോടി സംഗീതത്തെ ജനപ്രിയമാക്കുന്നതിലും സംരക്ഷിക്കുന്നതിലും അർച്ചന മഹന്തയ്ക്കും അവരുടെ പരേതനായ ഭർത്താവ് ഖഗേൻ മഹന്തയ്ക്കും വലിയ സംഭാവനയുണ്ട്. നിരവധി ഡ്യുയറ്റ് ഹിറ്റുകൾ പാടി സംഗീത ദമ്പതികൾ പലപ്പോഴും ഒരുമിച്ച് അവതരിപ്പിച്ചു.[3]

മരണം
[തിരുത്തുക]അർച്ചന മഹന്ത 2020 ഓഗസ്റ്റ് 27-ന് അന്തരിച്ചു. അവർ പ്രമേഹം, ഉയർന്ന രക്തസമ്മർദ്ദം, പാർക്കിൻസൺസ് രോഗം എന്നിവയാൽ ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടുകയായിരുന്നു.[7][8]
