കാലാവസ്ഥാ പ്രവർത്തകയും[1] ഐക്യരാഷ്ട്രസഭയുടെ യുവ അംബാസഡറുമാണ് അലിസ അയാസ്.[1][2][3] ലണ്ടൻ യൂണിവേഴ്‌സിറ്റി കോളേജിൽ (UCL) യുണൈറ്റഡ് കിംഗ്‌ഡം യൂത്ത് ഔട്ട്‌സ്റ്റാൻഡിംഗ് കമ്മിറ്റ്‌മെന്റ് അവാർഡ് നേടിയ അവർ യുണൈറ്റഡ് നേഷൻസ്, ലണ്ടൻ ഇന്റർനാഷണൽ മോഡൽ യുണൈറ്റഡ് നേഷൻസ്, യുകെ പാർലമെന്ററി ഇവന്റുകൾ എന്നിവയിൽ സംസാരിച്ചു.[1][2][3] അവർ പാകിസ്ഥാൻ നാഷണൽ യൂത്ത് കൗൺസിൽ അംഗമാണ്.[3][4] UCL-ൽ ക്ലൈമറ്റ് ആക്ഷൻ സൊസൈറ്റി രൂപീകരിച്ചതിന് അവർ അറിയപ്പെടുന്നു[1]. ഇത് കാലാവസ്ഥാ വ്യതിയാനത്തിനെതിരെ യുകെയിലെ യുവാക്കളുടെ പ്രവർത്തനത്തിന് പ്രചോദനം നൽകി. ഇത് യുകെ പാർലമെന്റിൽ കാലാവസ്ഥാ അടിയന്തര പ്രഖ്യാപനത്തിലേക്ക് നയിച്ചു.[3][5][6] 2020 ഒക്ടോബറിൽ, മലാല യൂസഫ്‌സായിക്ക് ശേഷം ഈ ബഹുമതി ലഭിക്കുന്ന രണ്ടാമത്തെ പാകിസ്ഥാൻ വിദ്യാർത്ഥിനിയായ സുസ്ഥിര വികസന ലക്ഷ്യം 13 (SDG13) യുടെ യുഎൻ യുവ അംബാസഡറായി അവർ നിയമിക്കപ്പെട്ടു.[7][8][9][10][11]

ആദ്യകാല ജീവിതവും വിദ്യാഭ്യാസവും[തിരുത്തുക]

യുണൈറ്റഡ് അറബ് എമിറേറ്റിലെ ദുബായിലാണ് അയാസ് ജനിച്ചത്. അവരുടെ ജീവിതത്തിന്റെ ഭൂരിഭാഗവും മിഡിൽ ഈസ്റ്റിലാണ് ജീവിച്ചത്.[12] ലണ്ടനിലേക്ക് മാറുന്നതിന് മുമ്പ് അവർ കറാച്ചി ഗ്രാമർ സ്കൂളിലും[12][13] ദുബായ് ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് സ്കൂളിലും പഠിച്ചു.

അവർ ഇപ്പോൾ ലണ്ടനിലെ യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി കോളേജിൽ ബിരുദത്തിന് പഠിക്കുകയാണ്.[14]

കരിയർ[തിരുത്തുക]

വിദ്യാർത്ഥിയായിരിക്കെ, അയാസ് 2018-ൽ UCL-ൽ ക്ലൈമറ്റ് ആക്ഷൻ സൊസൈറ്റി (CAS) സ്ഥാപിച്ചു.[15][16]ലണ്ടൻ ആസ്ഥാനമായുള്ള കോൺഫറൻസുകൾ, വർക്ക്‌ഷോപ്പുകൾ, കാമ്പെയ്‌നുകൾ, യുകെയിലെ യുവാക്കളെ കാലാവസ്ഥാ പ്രതിരോധത്തിനായി പ്രേരിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിനായി യു‌സി‌എൽ ആതിഥേയത്വം വഹിക്കുന്ന വാർഷിക "സുസ്ഥിരതാ സിമ്പോസിയം"[17] എന്നിവയുടെ തലവനാണ് അയാസ്.[18]

കാലാവസ്ഥാ വ്യതിയാനത്തിന്റെ ആരോഗ്യപരമായ ആഘാതങ്ങളെ നേരിടാനുള്ള അവരുടെ അഭിനിവേശം കണക്കിലെടുത്ത് കാലാവസ്ഥാ സംബന്ധമായ പെരുമാറ്റങ്ങളിൽ നല്ല മാറ്റങ്ങൾ വരുത്താൻ അയാസ് ശിൽപശാലകൾ സംഘടിപ്പിച്ചു.[19] ക്ലൈമറ്റ് ആക്ഷൻ സൊസൈറ്റിയിലെ [20] ടീമിനൊപ്പം, BME- കേന്ദ്രീകൃത നെറ്റ്‌വർക്കിംഗ് ഡിന്നറുകളും കോൺഫറൻസുകളും സംഘടിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിലൂടെ കാലാവസ്ഥാ വ്യതിയാനത്തിനെതിരായ പോരാട്ടത്തിൽ വൈവിധ്യവും ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തലും അവൾ സുഗമമാക്കിയതായി അറിയപ്പെടുന്നു.[21] കൂടാതെ അയാസിനെ ഒരു സർക്കാർ വട്ടമേശ ചർച്ചയിലേക്ക് ക്ഷണിച്ചു. ലോല യംഗ്, ബറോണസ് യങ് ഓഫ് ഹോൺസി.[22] സ്റ്റുഡന്റ്‌സ് യൂണിയൻ "ഇവന്റ് ഓഫ് ദ ഇയർ" അവാർഡ് നേടിയ യുകെയിലെ ആദ്യത്തെ "സുസ്ഥിരതാ സിമ്പോസിയം" അവൾ അവതരിപ്പിച്ചു.[23] സിമ്പോസിയത്തിന്റെ ആശയം, കാലാവസ്ഥാ വ്യതിയാനത്തിന്റെ പ്രത്യാഘാതങ്ങളെ ലഘൂകരിക്കുന്നതിലും പൊരുത്തപ്പെടുത്തുന്നതിലും പങ്കെടുക്കുന്നതിന് എഞ്ചിനീയറിംഗ്, കല തുടങ്ങിയ വിവിധ വിഷയങ്ങളെ ബന്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.[24]

16 മുതൽ 24 വയസ്സുവരെയുള്ളവർക്ക് യൂണിവേഴ്‌സൽ ക്രെഡിറ്റിൽ തൊഴിലവസരങ്ങൾ സൃഷ്ടിക്കുന്നതിന് തൊഴിലുടമകൾക്ക് ധനസഹായം നൽകുന്ന റിഷി സുനക് (എച്ച്എം ട്രഷറിയിലെ എക്‌സ്‌ചെക്കർ ചാൻസലർ) എന്നിവരുമായി ചേർന്ന് യുകെ കിക്ക്‌സ്റ്റാർട്ട് സ്‌കീം പുറത്തിറക്കാൻ അയാസ് പ്രവർത്തിച്ചു.[6][25] അതോടൊപ്പം, ഇന്ധന ദാരിദ്ര്യവും കാർബൺ പുറന്തള്ളലും കൈകാര്യം ചെയ്യുന്നതിനുള്ള അവരുടെ അഭിനിവേശം കണക്കിലെടുത്ത് അവർ യുകെ ഗ്രീൻ ഹോംസ് ഗ്രാന്റുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ടു.[26][27]

സ്വകാര്യ ജീവിതം[തിരുത്തുക]

അയാസ് ഇംഗ്ലണ്ടിലെ ലണ്ടനിലാണ്[[28] സുഹൃത്തുക്കൾക്കും കുടുംബത്തിനുമൊപ്പം താമസിക്കുന്നത്. പക്ഷേ പലപ്പോഴും യാത്ര ചെയ്യാറുണ്ട്.[29]

അവരുടെ വിജയത്തിനും പ്രചോദനത്തിനും അവൾ മാതാപിതാക്കളായ മുഹമ്മദ് അയാസിനും ഡോ. റാണാ നജ്മിക്കും നന്ദി പറയുന്നു.[30]

മറ്റ് ജോലിയും മാധ്യമ പങ്കാളിത്തവും[തിരുത്തുക]

വൈസ് പ്രൊവോസ്റ്റ് (ഹെൽത്ത്) ഡേവിഡ് ലോമാസിന്റെ കീഴിൽ UCL-ന്റെ ഡിപ്പാർട്ട്‌മെന്റിൽ ആഗോള ആരോഗ്യ നയ സംരംഭങ്ങളുമായി അയാസ് ഉൾപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു. അവർ നിലവിൽ UCL-ൽ പോപ്പുലേഷൻ ഹെൽത്ത് സയൻസസിനായുള്ള ഒരു ബിരുദ പ്രോഗ്രാമിൽ എൻറോൾ ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്.[28]

2021-ൽ പാകിസ്ഥാൻ ഡെയ്‌ലിയുടെ 30 അണ്ടർ 30 ലിസ്റ്റിൽ അവർ മൂന്നാം സ്ഥാനത്തായിരുന്നു.[42]
