ഫിലിപ്പ് കൊസ്റ്റ്യൂവിന്റെയും ജാൻ കൊസ്റ്റ്യൂവിന്റെയും മകളും ഫ്രഞ്ച് പര്യവേക്ഷകനും ചലച്ചിത്ര നിർമ്മാതാവുമായ ജാക്വസ്-യെവ്സ് കൊസ്റ്റ്യൂവിന്റെയും സിമോൺ കൊസ്റ്റ്യൂവിന്റെയും ചെറുമകളുമാണ് കൊസ്റ്റ്യൂ. [4][5] പ്രകൃതി ലോകം പര്യവേക്ഷണം ചെയ്യുകയും വിശദീകരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്ന മൂന്നാം തലമുറ കൊസ്റ്റ്യൂ കുടുംബത്തിലെ അംഗമാണ് അവർ.[6][7] നാലുമാസം പ്രായമുള്ളപ്പോൾ കൊസ്റ്റ്യൂ ആദ്യം തന്റെ പിതാവ് ഫിലിപ്പ് കൊസ്റ്റ്യൂവിനോടൊപ്പം പര്യവേഷണം നടത്തി. ഏഴാമത്തെ വയസ്സിൽ മുത്തച്ഛനായ ജാക്വസ്-യെവ്സ് കൊസ്റ്റ്യൂവിനൊപ്പം സ്കൂബ ഡൈവ് ചെയ്യാൻ പഠിച്ചു.[8]

1998 ൽ ജോർജ്‌ടൗൺ കോളേജിൽ നിന്ന് പൊളിറ്റിക്കൽ സയൻസിൽ (ഇന്റർനാഷണൽ റിലേഷൻസ്) ബിരുദം നേടി. 2016 മെയ് മാസത്തിൽ ജോർജ്‌ടൗൺ യൂണിവേഴ്‌സിറ്റിയിൽ നിന്ന് ഡോക്ടർ ഓഫ് ഹ്യൂമൻ ലെറ്റേഴ്‌സിന്റെ ഓണററി ബിരുദം നേടി.[9]

ശാസ്ത്രം, അഭിഭാഷണം, വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം എന്നിവയിൽ കുടുംബത്തിന്റെ പാരമ്പര്യം വർദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിനായി 2000-ൽ കൊസ്റ്റ്യൂ തന്റെ സഹോദരൻ ഫിലിപ്പ് കൊസ്റ്റ്യൂ ജൂനിയറുമായി ചേർന്ന് എർത്ത് എക്കോ ഇന്റർനാഷണൽ സ്ഥാപിച്ചു.[10][11]

2005 മുതൽ 2007 വരെ മാർ‌വിവയുടെ ഉപദേശകയായി മധ്യ അമേരിക്കയിലെ സമുദ്ര സംരക്ഷണ വിഷയങ്ങളിൽ കൊസ്റ്റ്യൂ പ്രവർത്തിച്ചു.[12]

2010 ൽ കൊസ്റ്റ്യൂ യുഎസ്, കാനഡ, മെക്സിക്കോ എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിലുടനീളമുള്ള ഗുരുതരമായ ജലപ്രശ്നങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ച് അഞ്ച് മാസത്തെ 18,000 മൈൽ സംവേദനാത്മക പര്യവേക്ഷണത്തിന് വടക്കേ അമേരിക്ക, എക്സ്പെഡിഷൻ ബ്ലൂ പ്ലാനറ്റിന് നേതൃത്വം നൽകി. [13]
