ഒരു ഇന്ത്യൻ ദന്തഡോക്ടറും ചണ്ഡിഗഡിലെ പോസ്റ്റ് ഗ്രാജുവേറ്റ് ഇൻസ്റ്റിറ്റ്യൂട്ട് ഓഫ് മെഡിക്കൽ എഡ്യൂക്കേഷൻ ആൻഡ് റിസർച്ചിന്റെ (പിജിഐഎംആർ) മുൻ ഡീനും ആയിരുന്നു അമൃത് കൗർ തിവാരി.[1][2] ഓറൽ ഹെൽത്ത് സയൻസസ് സെന്റർ, പിജിഐ ഹെഡ് എന്നീ നിലകളിലും സേവനമനുഷ്ഠിച്ചു.[3] പഴയ പട്യാല രാജ്യത്തെ മന്ത്രിയായിരുന്ന സർദാർ തീർത്ഥ് സിംഗ് ഗുരുവിന്റെ മകളായിരുന്നു അമൃത്.[4]
ഇന്ത്യൻ സൊസൈറ്റി ഓഫ് പെഡോഡോണ്ടിക്സ് ആൻഡ് പ്രിവന്റീവ് ഡെന്റിസ്ട്രി (ISPPD) [5] ന്റെ ലൈഫ് അംഗമായി തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ട ആദ്യ വ്യക്തിയായിരുന്നു അവർ. കൂടാതെ ഇന്ത്യൻ ഡെന്റൽ അസോസിയേഷന്റെയും[6] നാഷണൽ അക്കാദമി ഓഫ് മെഡിക്കൽ സയൻസസിന്റെയും ഫെലോ ആണ്.[7] ചണ്ഡിഗഡ് മുനിസിപ്പൽ കോർപ്പറേഷന്റെ മുൻ അംഗവുമായിരുന്നു. പി‌ജി‌ഐ‌എമ്മറിൽ നിന്നുള്ള മേൽ‌നോട്ടത്തിനുശേഷം അവരെ ഇൻസ്റ്റിറ്റ്യൂട്ടിന്റെ പ്രൊഫസർ എമെറിറ്റസ് ആക്കി. [10] പിയർ റിവ്യൂഡ് ജേണലുകളിൽ അവർ നിരവധി മെഡിക്കൽ ലേഖനങ്ങൾ എഴുതിയിട്ടുണ്ട് [11] [12] കൂടാതെ ഫ്ലൂറൈഡുകളും ഡെന്റൽ കാരീസും: ഒരു സമാഹാരം എന്ന പുസ്തകം പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ചിരുന്നു.[13] 1992 ൽ ഇന്ത്യ സർക്കാർ അവർക്ക് പത്മശ്രീ നൽകി.[14] പിയറി ഫൗച്ചാർഡ് അക്കാദമിയുടെ സർട്ടിഫിക്കറ്റ് ഓഫ് മെറിറ്റ് സ്വീകർത്താവായ തിവാരി, [15] പഞ്ചാബ് സർവകലാശാലയിലെ എഴുത്തുകാരനും പ്രൊഫസറുമായ വിഎൻ തിവാരിയെ വിവാഹം കഴിച്ചു, ഒരു മകനുണ്ട്, ഒരു ഇന്ത്യൻ രാഷ്ട്രീയക്കാരനും മുൻ വാർത്താവിതരണപ്രക്ഷേപണ മന്ത്രിയായ മനീഷ് തിവാരി. 1984 ൽ പഞ്ചാബ് കലാപത്തിൽ തീവ്രവാദികളുടെ വെടിയേറ്റ് വിഎൻ തിവാരി കൊല്ലപ്പെട്ടു.[16]
