മാവോവാദികളെ നേരിടാനായി ഗവൺമെന്റ് സഹായത്തോടെ ഛത്തീസ്ഗഡിൽ പ്രവർത്തിച്ചിരുന്ന സ്വകാര്യ സേനയാണ് സൽവാ ജുദം. കോൺഗ്രസ് നേതാവ് മഹേന്ദ്രകർമയുടെ നേതൃത്ത്വത്തിൽ മാവോയിസ്റ്റ് ശക്തികേന്ദ്രങ്ങളിൽ ആദിവാസി യുവാക്കൾക്ക് ശമ്പളം നൽകിയാണ് സൽവാ ജുദം വിപുലീകരിച്ചത്. സൽവാ ജുദം നിയമവിരുദ്ധമാണെന്ന് 2011 ജൂലൈയിൽ സുപ്രീം കോടതി വിധിച്ചിരുന്നു.[1] ഇതിലെ സ്‌പെഷൽഓഫിസർമാരെ തിരിച്ചുവിളിക്കണമെന്നും അവരുടെ ആയുധങ്ങൾ കണ്ടുകെട്ടണമെന്നും കോടതി വിധിച്ചു.

മഹേന്ദ്രകർമയുടെ വധം[തിരുത്തുക]

2013 മേയിൽ ഛത്തീസ്ഗഢിൽ കോൺഗ്രസ് റാലിക്ക് നേരെ നടന്ന ആക്രമണത്തിൽ മഹേന്ദ്ര കർമ കൊല്ലപ്പെട്ടു.[2] പലവതണ മാവോവാദികളുടെ ആക്രണത്തിൽ നിന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം രക്ഷപെട്ടിരുന്നു.
