റാൾഫ് എം. സ്റ്റെയിൻമാൻ അഥവാ റാൾഫ് മാർവിൻ സ്റ്റെയിൻമാൻ (ജനുവരി 14, 1943 – സെപ്റ്റംബർ 30, 2011) റോക്ക് ഫെല്ലെർ സർവകലാശാലയിലെ രോഗപ്രതിരോധ ശാസ്ത്രജ്ഞനും ജീവകോശ ശാസ്ത്രജ്ഞനും ആയിരുന്നു. 1973ൽ, സസ്തനികളുടെ ത്വക്കിലെ രണ്ടാം നിര പ്രതിരോധ കോശങ്ങളെ കണ്ടെത്തി ഡെൻട്രിട്ടിക്ക് കോശങ്ങൾ[3] (Dendritic cells) എന്ന് നാമകരണം നടത്തിയത് സ്റ്റെയിൻമാനും സഹപ്രവർത്തകനായ സാന്വിൽ എ . കോഹനും ചേർന്നായിരുന്നു.[4],[5]. നിസർഗവും ആർജിതവുമായ രോഗപ്രതിരോധ വ്യവസ്തകളിൽ ഗവേഷണം നടത്തി, ശ്വേതാണുക്കളും ഡെൻട്രിട്ടിക്ക് കോശങ്ങളും പ്രയോജനപ്പെടുത്തി രോഗപ്രതിരോധ സംബന്ധ രോഗങ്ങളെ മനസ്സിലാക്കുവാനും അതിന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തിൽ പുതിയ ചികിത്സകളും വാക്സിനും വികസിപ്പിക്കുവാനും സാധിച്ചു.
