ഇംഗ്ലീഷിൽ Brahminy Myna എന്നും Brahminy Starling എന്നും അറിയപ്പെടുന്ന പക്ഷിയാണ് കരിന്തലച്ചിക്കാളി[2][3][4][5]. ശാസ്ത്രീയ നാമം Sturnia pagodarum എന്നാണ്.[6]). ഇന്ത്യൻ ഉപഭൂഖണ്ഡത്തിലെ സമതലങ്ങളിൽ ജോടിയായോ ചെറു കൂട്ടങ്ങളായോ കാണുന്നു.

കറുത്ത തൊപ്പിയുണ്ട്. പിൻ കഴുത്തുവരെ കറുപ്പാണ്. വാലിന്റെ അറ്റം വെള്ളയാണ്. ഗുദത്തിന്റെ നിറം വെള്ളയാണേന്ന് സൂക്ഷിച്ചു നോക്കിയാൽ കാണാം. നീളം കുറഞ്ഞ് വിശറിപോലെ വൃത്താകൃതിയിലാണ് വാൽ. [7]
വിതരണം[തിരുത്തുക]
നേപ്പാൾ, ഭാരതം എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിൽ കാണുന്നു. തണുപ്പുകാലത്ത് ശ്രീലങ്കയിലേക്ക് ദേശാടാനം നടത്താറുണ്ട്. സാധാരണ സമതലങ്ങളിലാണ് കണുന്നങ്കിലും 3000 മീ. ഉയരത്തിൽ ലഡാക്കിൽ കണ്ടാതായി പറയുന്നുണ്ട്. [8]

മരപ്പൊത്തുകളിലോ മ്റ്റു പൊത്തുപോലുള്ളയിടങ്ങളിളോ ആൺ കൂട് കെട്ടുന്നത്[9] മാർച്ച് മുതൽ സെപ്തംബർ വരെയാണ് പ്രജനന കാലം. ആണും പെന്നും കൂടുണ്ടാക്കാൻ കൂടാറുണ്ട്. കൂട്ടിൽ പുല്ലും തൂവലും കൊണ്ട് മെത്തയുണ്ടാക്കും. മൂന്നു നാലു മുട്ടകളാണ് ഇടുന്നത്. മുട്ടകൾക്ക് മങ്ങിയ നീല കലർന്ന പച്ച നിറമാണ്. മുട്ടകൾ 12-14 ദിവസത്തിനുള്ളിൽ വിരിയും.
