സിഖ് മത വിശ്വാസികളെ പൊതുവെ സിഖ്, (ഇംഗ്ലീഷ്: [siːk] അഥവാ [sɪk]; പഞ്ചാബി: ਸਿੱਖ, sikkh, ഐ.പി.എ: ['sɪk.kʰ]) അഥവാ സിഖുകാർ എന്ന് വിശേഷിപ്പിക്കുന്നു. സംസ്കൃത പദമായ ശിഷ്യ "(വിദ്യാർത്ഥി)" അല്ലെങ്കിൽ śikṣa (ശിക്ഷ) (അദ്ധ്യയനം) എന്നിവയിൽ നിന്നാണ് സിഖ് എന്ന പദം ഉടലെടുത്തത്.[24][25] സിഖ് മത വിശ്വാസികളായ പുരുഷന്മാർ സാധാരണയായി തലപ്പാവ് ധരിച്ചവരും താടി നീട്ടി വളർത്തിയവരുമാണ്. ഇവർ വലതുകൈയ്യിൽ കാര എന്ന വളയോ ലോഹ വളകളോ ധരിക്കുന്നു. സിഖ് സ്ത്രീകളും ഉരുക്കു വളകൾ ധരിക്കാറുണ്ട്.[26]

ഇന്ത്യയിൽ ഇന്ന് രണ്ടു കോടിയോളം സിഖുകാരുണ്ട്. എന്നിരുന്നാലും ഇന്ത്യയിലെ മൊത്തം ജനസംഖ്യയുടെ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തിൽ ഇവരെ ന്യൂനപക്ഷമായാണ് കണക്കാക്കുന്നത്. അതായത് ജനങ്ങളിൽ രണ്ട് ശതമാനത്തോളം സിഖുകാരാണ്[27]. പഞ്ചാബ് പ്രദേശമാണ് സിഖുകാരുടെ പരമ്പരാഗത ജന്മഭൂമി. സിഖുകാരിൽ മിക്കവരും പഞ്ചാബികളാണ്. ഇന്ന് ലോകത്തിന്റെ പല ഭാഗങ്ങളിലും സിഖ് സമൂഹങ്ങളുണ്ട്.

ചരിത്രം[തിരുത്തുക]

ഹിന്ദുമത വിശ്വാസികളും അതെത്തുടർന്ന് ജൈനന്മാരും ബുദ്ധമത വിശ്വാസികളും ആയിരുന്നു ഭാരതീയ ജനസംഖ്യയുടെ സിംഹഭാഗവും. ഏതാണ്ട് 1200 ആം ആണ്ടിനോട് അടുപ്പിച്ചു ഇസ്ലാം ഭാരതത്തിലേക്ക് വരുകയും സാമ്രാജ്യങ്ങൾ സ്ഥാപിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. ആ കാലത്ത് ഹിന്ദു മുസ്ലീം ലഹളകൾ സാധാരണമായി മാറി. 1469ൽ ആയിരുന്നു ഗുരു നാനാക്കിന്റെ ജനനം. തുടർന്നുപോന്ന പല ഹിന്ദു ആചാരങ്ങളിലും മാറ്റം വരുത്തണം എന്ന് ആഗ്രഹിച്ച അദ്ദേഹം അന്ന് സ്വന്തം ശിഷ്യന്മാരെ കണ്ടെത്താൻ തുടങ്ങി. ഇസ്ലാം മതം അനുവർത്തിച്ചു പോന്ന ബലം പ്രയോഗിച്ചുള്ള മത പരിവർത്തനം[28] അദ്ദേഹം അതിശക്തമായി എതിർത്തു.[29][30] നാനക്കിന്റെ പ്രബോധനത്തിൽ ആയിരങ്ങൾ ആകൃഷ്ടരായി. തുടർന്ന് അവരിൽ പുരുഷന്മാർക്ക് സിംഹം എന്ന് അർഥം വരുന്ന സിംഗ് എന്നും സ്ത്രീകൾക്ക് സിംഹിണി എന്ന് അർഥം ഉള്ള കൌർ എന്നും പേരിനോടൊപ്പം അദ്ദേഹം ചേർത്ത് കൊടുത്തു. അടുത്ത മൂന്ന് ഗുരുക്കന്മാരും തങ്ങളുടെ അനുയായികളെ ഒരുമിച്ചു നിർത്തുന്നതിൽ വിജയിക്കുകയും സിഖ്, ഹിന്ദു മതങ്ങൾക്ക് നേരെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന ആക്രമണങ്ങളെ ചെറുക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. അഞ്ചാമത്തെ ഗുരു ആയിരുന്ന ഗുരു അർജുനെ മുസ്ലീം ഭരണാധികാരികൾ പിടി കൂടി വധിച്ചു. വിശുദ്ധ ഗ്രന്ഥത്തിൽ മാറ്റം വരുത്താനും സിഖ് മതത്തെ തങ്ങളുടെ കീഴിൽ കൊണ്ടുവരാനും ഉള്ള ശ്രമത്തെ എതിർത്തതിനായിരുന്നു അത്. സൈനികമായി കൂടുതൽ കരുത്തു നേടാൻ ഇത് സിഖ് അനുയായികളെ പ്രേരിപ്പിച്ചു[31].

സിഖ് ഗുരു പരമ്പരയുടെ ഒൻപതാം ഗുരു ആയിരുന്നു ഗുരു തെഘ് ബഹാദൂർ, കാശ്മീരിനെ പൂർണമായും മുസ്ലീം രാജ്യമാക്കാനുള്ള യത്നത്തിൽ മുഴുകി ഇരിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു മുഗൾ ചക്രവർത്തിയായ ഔറംഗസീബ് . അവിടെ നിന്ന് രക്ഷപെട്ടു ഓടിയ കുറെ കാശ്മീരി പണ്ഡിറ്റുകൾ ഗുരു തെഘ് ബഹാദൂർ നെ കണ്ടു രക്ഷക്ക് അപേക്ഷിച്ചു. എന്നെ മുസ്ലീം ആക്കാതെ നിങ്ങളെ ആക്കാൻ ആവില്ല എന്ന് ഔറംഗസീബ് നു മറുപടി കൊടുക്കാൻ ഗുരു പറയുകയും തുടർന്ന് അദേഹത്തെ മുഗൾ സൈന്യം ബന്ധനസ്ഥനാക്കി അതി ഭീകരമായി മത പരിവർത്തനത്തിന് പ്രേരിപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു . എന്നാൽ ഗുരുവിന്റെ മന സാനിധ്യത്തിനു മുൻപിൽ മുസ്ലീങ്ങൾ പരാജയപ്പെടുകയും അദേഹത്തെ വധിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു . അതിനു ശേഷം അവസാന ഗുരു ആയ ഗുരു ഗോവിന്ദ് സിംഗ് പിതാവിന്റെ പാത പിന്തുടർന്ന് മുഗളർക്കെതിരെ ആക്രമണം നടത്തുകയും വധിക്കപ്പെടുന്നതിന് മുന്പായി ഗുരു ഗ്രന്ഥ സാഹിബിനെ ഗുരുവാക്കി അവരോധിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു [32] .

പഞ്ച് തഖ്ത്കൾ[തിരുത്തുക]

പഞ്ച തഖ്ത്(അഞ്ചു സിംഹാസനങ്ങൾ) എന്ന് അറിയപ്പെടുന്ന അഞ്ചു ഗുരുദ്വാരകൾ സിഖ് മതത്തിലെ പരമോന്നതമായ സ്ഥലങ്ങൾ ആയി കരുതുന്നു. സിഖ് സമുദായത്തിന്റെ മതപരവും സാമൂഹികപരവും ആയ പല പ്രധാനപ്പെട്ട തീരുമാനങ്ങളും ഇവിടെ വച്ച എടുത്തിട്ടുണ്ട്.

ലോക ജന സംഖ്യയുടെ ഏതാണ്ട് 1.62% സിഖ് വംശജരാണ്‌ .അതിൽ 86 % പേരും ഭാരതത്തിലും അതിൽ തന്നെ 76 % പഞ്ചാബിലും അധിവസിക്കുന്നു .ഭാരതം കഴിഞ്ഞാൽ അമേരിക്ക , ബ്രിട്ടൻ , കാനഡ , മലേഷ്യ ഇവിടങ്ങളിലൊക്കെ ശക്തമായ സിഖ് സമൂഹം അധിവാസം ഉറപ്പിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.

സത് ശ്രീ അകാൽ[തിരുത്തുക]

സിഖുകാർ പരസ്പരം അഭിസംബോധന ചെയ്യുന്നതിന് ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്ന വാചകമാണ് “സത് ശ്രീ അകാൽ ”. lകേൾക്കുക സത്യം അനന്തം ആണെന്നാണ് ഇതിനർത്ഥം[33]‌.
