- I'm sorry, but I don't speak Malayam, but this thread seems to discuss the different scientific names of the plant. According to the rules of the International Code of Botanical Nomenclature, the only name for this plant is Coccinia grandis. The names including the words Cephalandra or indica (e.g. Coccinia indica) are younger synonyms of the correct name and thus must not be used to prevent confusion. The introduction part of the article seems to use the incorrect "Cephalandra indica". As I don't speak Malayam, I cannot correct this. Would one user be so kind to do it? If a literature reference is needed, one could use:
