Panel Discussion on “Internet, Online media and the Nipah Virus Outbreak[തിരുത്തുക]
Dear friends in the Malayalam Wikimedia community,
(First of all, apologies for the message in English. For a full disclaimer, I am posting the message on behalf of the friends from the Internet Society India Trivandrum Chapter (ISOC-TRV) who also happen to be professional colleagues at the Internet Society)
As Kerala is affected by the deadly Nipah virus outbreak — which is now spreading into Karnataka — the Chapter colleagues are keen on discussing about possible ways to make common people aware of this issue, and also share factual information about the virus to counter the sheer amount of fake news shared over social media.
They have already had words with Netha and the Wiki Med Foundation, and are organizing a panel discussion in Trivandrum this Sunday.
It would be great if any of the Malayalam (or any other language) Wikimedians could join, and be part of this brainstorming session to address some of the issues tied to Nipah outbreak.
