പല പ്രാവശ്യം ബീഹാറിന്റെ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയായിരുന്ന ലാലു പ്രസാദ് യാദവ് (ദേവനാഗരി लालू प्रसाद यादव)),2004 മുതൽ 2009 വരെ മൻമോഹൻ സിംഗ് പ്രധാനമന്ത്രിയായുള്ള യു പി എ സർക്കാറിൽ റെയിൽവെ മന്ത്രിയായിരുന്നു. ജനനം 1948 ജൂൺ 11ന് ബീഹാറിലെ ഗോപാൽഗംജ് ജില്ലയിൽ. ബീഹാറിലെ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയായിരുന്ന റാബ്റി ദേവിയാണ് ഭാര്യ. മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയായിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ വിവിധ അഴിമതികേസുകൾ ലാലുവിന് നേരെ ആരോപിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. കാലിത്തീറ്റ കുംഭകോണം ഇതിൽ പ്രധാനമാണ്.
