മിഗ്വെൽ ഡി സെർവാന്റെസ്
ഡോൺ മിഗ്വെൽ ഡി സെർവാന്റസ് ഇ സാവെദ്ര [b] (IPA: [miˈɣel ðe θerˈβantes saaˈβeðra] ആധുനിക സ്പാനിഷ് ഭാഷയിൽ; സെപ്റ്റംബർ, 1547 – ഏപ്രിൽ, 1616)[1] ഒരു സ്പാനിഷ് നോവലിസ്റ്റും കവിയും നാടകകൃത്തുമായിരുന്നു. സ്പാനിഷ് സാഹിത്യത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും പ്രധാനപ്പെട്ട സാഹിത്യകാരന്മാരിലൊരാളായിരുന്നു സെർവാന്റെസ്. സ്പെയിനിന്റെ ദ് സിഗ്ലോ ദെ ഓറോ എന്നറിയപ്പെടുന്ന 15-ആം നൂറ്റാണ്ടിലെ സാംസ്കാരിക വിപ്ലവത്തിന്റെ നായകനായിരുന്നു സെർവാന്റെസ്. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ഏറ്റവും പ്രശസ്തമായ പുസ്തകം ഡോൺ ക്വിക്സോട്ട് ഡെ ലാ മാഞ്ചാ. എന്ന കൃതിയാണ്. പാശ്ചാത്യ സാഹിത്യത്തിലെ സ്പാനിഷ് ക്ലാസിക്കുകളിൽ ആദ്യത്തേതായി കരുതപ്പെടുന്നു.[2]. എഴുതപ്പെട്ടതിൽ ഏറ്റവും ഉദാത്തമായ സാങ്കൽപ്പികകഥകളിൽ ഒന്നായി ഇത് കരുതപ്പെടുന്നു[3]. അറുപത്തഞ്ചിലേറെ ഭാഷകളിലേക്ക് ഈ പുസ്തകം വിവർത്തനം ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഇന്നും ഈ പുസ്തകത്തിന്റെ പ്രതികൾ പതിവായി അച്ചടിക്കുന്നു. 18-ആം നൂറ്റാണ്ടുവരെ ഈ പുസ്തകത്തെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള നിരൂപക സംവാദങ്ങൾ നടന്നിരുന്നു. എൽ പ്രിൻസിപ്പെ ദെ ലോസ് ഇൻജെനിയോസ് (ദ് പ്രിൻസ് ഓഫ് വിറ്റ്സ്) എന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം അറിയപ്പെട്ടു.
സ്പാനിഷ് ഭാഷയിന്മേൽ ഇദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ സ്വാധീനം വളരെ വലുതായിരുന്നു. സെർവാന്റസിന്റെ ഭാഷ (ല ലെൻഗ്വ ഡെ സെർവാന്റെസ്) എന്നും സ്പാനിഷ് ഭാഷ അറിയപ്പെടുന്നുണ്ട് എന്നത് അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ സ്വാധീനം വെളിവാക്കുന്നു.[4] രസികന്മാരുടെ രാജകുമാരൻ (എൽ പ്രിൻസിപ്പെ ഡെ ലോസ് ഇൻജെനിയോസ്) എന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം അറിയപ്പെടുന്നുണ്ട്.[5]
