തെക്കേ ഇന്ത്യയിലെ തദ്ദേശഇനമാണ് Yellow-throated Bulbul എന്ന് ഇംഗ്ലീഷിൽ പേരും PycnonotusXantholaemus എന്ന് ശാസ്ത്രീയ നാമവുമുള്ള മഞ്ഞത്താലി ബുൾബുൾ.[4] [5][6][7] നാണംകുണുങ്ങികളായ ഇവ കുറ്റിക്കാടുകളിൽ ഒളിച്ചിരിക്കുകയാണ് ചെയ്യുക. കുത്തനെയുള്ള പാറക്കുന്നുകളിൽ കാണുന്ന കുറ്റിച്ചെടികളിലാണ് ഇവയുടെ വാസം.

വിവരണം[തിരുത്തുക]

മുകൾ വശം ഒലീവ് നിറം, കഴുത്ത്, വാലിന്റെ അറ്റം, അടിയിലെ വാൽമൂടി എന്നിവ മഞ്ഞനിറം. തലയിൽ അടയാളങ്ങളില്ല, എന്നാൽ നെഞ്ചിനും വയറിനും ചാരനിറരാശി. പൂവനും പിടയും ഒരു പോലെ.[8]

പ്രധാനമായും പൂർവഘട്ടത്തിലും അപൂർവമായി പശ്ചിമഘട്ടത്തിലും കാണുന്നു. [9]മുമ്പുണ്ടായിരുന്ന പല വാസസ്ഥലങ്ങളിലും ഇപ്പോൾ ഇവയില്ല.[10]

നന്ദി ഹിൽസ്,[11] ഹോസ്ലി കുന്നുകൾ,[12] ഗിഞ്ചി,[13] യേർക്കാട്[14] ,ബിലിഗിരിരംഗൻസ്.[15] എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിലും കാണുന്നുണ്ട്. പശ്ചിമഘട്ടത്തിൽ ആനമലയിലും കാണുന്നു..[16][17][18][19]നല്ലമലയാണ് ഇവയുടെ വടക്കെ അതിരെന്ന് കരുതുന്നു. [20]

ഭക്ഷണം[തിരുത്തുക]

പ്രാണികളും ചെറുപഴങ്ങളുമാണ് ഭക്ഷണം. [9]

വരൾച്ചക്കാലത്ത് അവ വെള്ളമുള്ള സ്ഥലങ്ങളിൽ വെള്ളം കുടിക്കാനും എത്തും.[21]

പ്രജനനം[തിരുത്തുക]

ജൂൺ മുതൽ ആഗസ്റ്റ് വരെയാണ് പ്രജനന കാലം. ചെറു മരങ്ങളുടെ കവരങ്ങളിലാണ് കൂട് ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നത്. രണ്ടു മുട്ടകളിടും. അവ 20 ദിവസം കൊണ്ട് വിരിയും. 13 ദിവസത്തിനകം കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങൾ പറക്കാറാകും. [9][22]
