പ്രധാനമായും ഇന്ത്യയിലും ബംഗ്ലാദേശ്ലിലും കാണപ്പെടുന്ന കടുവകളുടെ ഒരു ഉപവിഭാഗമാണ് ബംഗാള് കടുവ. (Panthera tigris tigris or Panthera tigris bengalensis). കൂടാതെ ഇവ നേപ്പാള്, ഭൂട്ടാന്, മ്യാന്മാര് എന്നിവടങ്ങളിലും കാണപ്പെടുന്നു. ഇന്ത്യയിലെ ഏറ്റവും അധികം കാണപ്പെടുന്ന കടുവ ഇനം ഇതാണെന്നെ ഇന്ത്യ സര്ക്കാറിന്റെ ടൈഗര് കണ്സെര്വേഷന് അതോറിറ്റി കണക്കാക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഇവ 1411 ലധികം ഉണ്ടെന്ന് കണക്കാക്കപ്പെടുന്നു.
