ഓർക്കിഡ് കുടുംബത്തിൽ പെട്ട ഒരു സസ്യമാണ് നീല മരവാഴ. ഇതിന്റെ പൂക്കൾ വളരെകാലം കേടുകൂടാതെ ഇരിയ്ക്കും. അസ്സം മുതൽ ചൈനവരെയുള്ള കാശി മലനിരകളാണ് ഇതിന്റെ ജന്മദേശം.[1] ആസാമീസിൽ ബടൗ ഫൂൽ എന്നും, മണിപ്പൂരിയിൽ ക്വാക്ലെയ് എന്നും, മിസോയിൽ ഒക്ടോബർ എന്നും സംസ്കൃതത്തിൽ വന്ദാർ എന്നും ഈ പൂവ് അറിയപ്പെടുന്നു.
ഗ്ലോക്കോമ, തിമിരം, അന്ധത എന്നിവയ്ക്ക് പ്രതിവിധിയായി കണ്ണിലൊഴിക്കാനുള്ള തുള്ളിമരുന്ന് ഉണ്ടാക്കാൻ ഈ പൂവിന്റെ സത്ത് ഉപയോഗിക്കാറുണ്ട്.[1] പൂവിൽനിന്നുള്ള സത്തുപയോഗിച്ച് ത്വക്കിന്റെ പ്രായം കുറച്ചുകാണിക്കാമെന്നും അവകാശവാദമുണ്ട്. [2]
