ഏകദേശം ഒന്നര മീറ്ററോളം ഉയരത്തിൽ ഇടതിങ്ങി വളരുന്ന നീണ്ട ഇലകളോട് കൂടിയ ഒരു തൃണവർഗ്ഗസസ്യമാണ് ദർഭ അഥവാ ദർഭപ്പുല്ല്(ശാസ്ത്രീയ നാമം : Desmostachya bipinnata)സംസ്കൃതത്തിൽ കുശ, യജ്ഞഭൂഷണ എന്നിങ്ങനെ അറിയുന്നു. ഇംഗ്ലീഷിൽ Halfa grass, Big cordgrass, Salt reed-grass എന്നൊക്കെ അറിയപ്പെടുന്നു. എല്ലാകാലത്തും പൂക്കളും കായ്കളും കാണുന്ന ദർഭയുടെ എല്ലാ ഭാഗത്തിനും ഔഷധഗുണമുള്ളതായി കണക്കാക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. വയറിളക്കം, മഞ്ഞപ്പിത്തം, ത്വക്രോഗങ്ങൾ തുടങ്ങിയ വിവിധ രോഗങ്ങൾക്ക് ഇതൊരു നല്ല മരുന്നാണ്. ഇതേ കുടുംബത്തിൽ പെട്ട imperata cylindrica യേയും ദർഭയായി കണക്കാക്കുന്നു. ഇവയ്ക്ക് രൂപം വ്യത്യാസമാണെങ്കിലും ഗുണത്തിൽ വ്യത്യാസമില്ല. കൂടാതെ sacchurum sponaneum യേയും ദർഭയായി കണക്കാക്കുന്നു.
