അയര്ലന്റിന്റെ തലസ്ഥാനമാണ് ഡബ്ലിന്. രാജ്യത്തെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ നഗരവും ഡബ്ലിന് തന്നെയാണ്. അയര്ലന്റിന്റെ കിഴക്കന് തീരത്തിന്റെയും ഡബ്ലിന് പ്രദേശത്തിന്റെ ഹൃദയ ഭാഗത്തായി ലിഫി നദിയുടെ തീരത്താണ് ഈ നഗരം സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത്. വൈക്കിങ്ങുകളാണ് ഈ നഗരം സ്ഥാപിച്ചത്. മിഡീവിയല് കാലഘട്ടം മുതല് അയര്ലന്റിലെ ഏറ്റവും പ്രധാനപ്പെട്ട നഗരമാണ് ഡബ്ലിന്. ഇന്ന് അയര്ലന്റ് ദ്വീപിലെ ഒരു ഭരണ, ധനകാര്യ, സാംസ്കാരിക കേന്ദ്രമാണ് ഈ നഗരം. യൂറോപ്പിലെ തലസ്ഥാന നഗരങ്ങളില് ഏറ്റവും ഉയര്ന്ന ജനസംഖ്യാ വളര്ച്ചാ നിരക്ക് ഡബ്ലിനിലാണ്.
